Send this to that apathetic person you know. And remind them, “not coming for me…. yet”.

The democratically-minded world is standing with you in solidarity today, American friends 💙

Thinking of you today, American friends 💙. I’m so disgusted they’re attempting to rig the vote and that it seems no one will stop them. I’m so sorry they’ll stop at nothing. I think all of you still fighting the good fight in the face of this corruption are total bada$$e$. People all around the world are standing with you in solidarity today.

Love, a Poet from Canada 🇨🇦

A haunted house, but make it parenting 👻

For the parents that aren’t having fun, but are still trying their best to show up. The parents with highly sensitive and profoundly willful kids. I see you. I’m sorry. I know you thought it would be different.

This is the hardest work for me to share. I fear judgment from “the committee of very good mothers” (you know the ones). But I need to share this, because I know someone will get it. Also, you can choose to read this with humour and it probably hits better 😂😭🖤

Inspired by Anne Carson’s “Short talks” and written a few weeks ago in @gatherpoets 🖤.

I made a Pinterest board for my collection, “A Lucky Sort of Life”, coming out next May with @arcanapoetrypress and I want to share it with you 💚✨

My publisher Jo recently described the collection as equal parts dark, witchy, witty and responsibly optimistic. She gets me, guys!!!

Thanks for reading my work. Thanks for being here. This collection is deeply confessional and I am both elated and terrified to share it with you. But no matter what, I know it will be in good hands 💚.

(PS I checked all the notes on the images to make sure none are AI, if I missed something, please know I tried!)

Does anyone else think that it’s starting to feel like “The Last of Us” out here? 🧟

Such a special night with @gatherpoets last night 🥰 here’s my poem from the anthology and some beautiful faces.

A poem for the children shot and killed in Bend, Oregon, and all other victims of school shootings. A poem for the children victimized, killed, maimed, bombed in Gaza and other places of genocide and violence. A poem for children around the world who are used as pawns in the war games of petty, little men. A poem for the starving children. A poem for the children that lose their lives so that gun and weapon manufacturers and lobbies can continue to profit.

This world is so, so sick. Sometimes, it all feels so hopeless. So, we write. And we do what we can.
