Right now, it’s like this. May I be at ease.
✨
May I take it all in.
May I expand my capacity to hold the goodness and meet the challenges.
May I love more deeply and show up bravely in this life.

Togetherness is my drug of choice. ❤️
.
When I think back on all the extraordinary places these retreats have taken me, it’s the people who stay with me the longest.
.
Some arrive as old friends. Others come knowing no one. And somewhere between morning yoga, shared meals, wild adventures, and conversations that wander late into the evening, something happens.
.
The circle expands.
.
Yoga is a practice of union. Of coming home to our bodies, to ourselves, and perhaps, to one another.
.
Maybe that’s what keeps calling me back. Not simply the places we go, but who we become together.
.
As I dream up Wild Serenity: Zion, I’m thinking about the beautiful, unexpected connections still waiting to be made. Here’s to finding our people, and making room for a few more. ❤️

How often do we wait until we know exactly how something will turn out before we give ourselves permission to begin?
.

We want certainty. A clear path. Some assurance that the dream will work.
But what if the path only reveals itself once we begin walking?
.
What if following our inner guidance isn’t about knowing where we’ll end up, but trusting ourselves enough to take the next step?
.
And perhaps the story isn’t only about reaching the summit, but everything we discover along the way.
.
What might you say yes to if you didn’t need to know how it would all unfold?
❤️
Speaking of saying yes… I’d love for you to join me for my next Wild Serenity retreat in Zion, May 20–23, 2027!

Sicily, nine years ago this week. 🇮🇹 Grazie mille.

I had already been leading retreats for years throughout California, Mexico and Hawaii, but this was my first time taking one to Europe. I don’t think I realized quite how much it meant to me until I got home.

We stayed near the charming town of Noto, hiked Mount Etna, visited Taormina, learned to make ravioli, and gathered around the table for long, family-style meals. At Planeta, there was wine tasting—and olive oil tasting, which I especially loved as someone who doesn’t drink.

We also spent time in seva, teaching yoga at an orphanage. There’s a little girl in one of the clips from this trip, and seeing her brings back another part of what made the experience so meaningful.

What I remember most clearly happened after I came home.

I would get into bed at night and, without even meaning to, find myself quietly whispering:

thank you, thank you, thank you.

I’ll never forget that feeling.

Nine years later, I’m looking back at all the places, people and experiences this work has brought into my life—and somehow those are still the words that come to mind.

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. 🤍

Open hearts, indeed. 🤍

Last week, an extraordinary group of women gathered for a private day retreat in support of the Open Hearts Foundation — and I was in my happy place, guiding a day filled with movement, meditation, reflection and connection.

So grateful to Jane Seymour for opening her home and heart to us, and to everyone who gathered and helped make this day so special.

A beautiful reminder of what can happen when we create the space to come together. You don’t need a retreat to do that. Gather with friends. Get outside. Be together. 🪷

What makes a retreat truly transformative?

Maybe it isn’t the beautiful destination, the itinerary or even the yoga.

Maybe it’s how everything is brought together.

From sunrise yoga on the Zambezi to safari, breathwork, sound baths, mokoro journeys and evenings beneath African skies, this was 11 days of experiencing what a retreat can become when it’s created with intention.

Pre-book-launch survival kit: yoga, ocean air, and a sound bath. 🌊

We’re almost 30 days away from What Happened in Beulah and I cannot wait for this story to finally be in your hands. 📚🙌

A big thank you to @janeseymour for hosting, @openheartsfoundation for putting together such a wonderful event, and @alexdawsonyoga for such a relaxing experience. by @alexdawsonyoga

When you’re feeling stressed… take a chance on penguins. 🐧
.
A little post-retreat playtime in South Africa after Wild Serenity Botswana. And yes, they are every bit as adorable in person. 🤍
.
Some things really do make everything better. Stay cool, y’all!

A little Labor Day reminder to make room for play. ✨
.
There’s a certain kind of freedom that happens when you step away from your everyday life, land somewhere extraordinary, and share it with really good humans.
.
Of course, we can’t do that every day. Sometimes, for me, it’s simply heading to a yoga class, stepping outside, turning up the music, or finding a reason to laugh.
.
More laughter. More wonder. More wildness. More you.
.
This is why I retreat. 🤍

Our last day at Munga Plains. 🤍

We began as we had so many mornings before — together, on our mats.

But this day carried us beyond them.

We were welcomed into the local Basubiya community, where we sat with the women as they wove baskets and shared traditions passed from one generation to the next.

“So your mother taught you?”

“Yes. My mother, my grandmother.”

We found our rhythm together in an afternoon of drumming.

And that evening, we gathered one last time as song and dance filled the night.

There are experiences you plan for a retreat. And then there are the moments that become something more — an exchange, a connection, a memory you know you’ll carry home.

And it looks like the stars just might be aligning for us to return to Botswana in June 2027. ✨🇧🇼
