“Hello, I’m Johnny Cash” — Johnny Cash at Folsom State Prison, January 1968

Only reason I’m posting again is because I’ve had enough of having a difficult time finding work. Singing is what I’m best at and I won’t stop until this more than takes over any full-time “job” I could’ve had.

Now go watch “Walk The Line” and tell me your favorite scene 🎬

Catch ya somewhere soon! Peep my stories to see where I’ll be next 🫡

Just trying to become the kind of performer people talk about on their ride home 🛸 by @alexobiemusic

Trust me… it’s better if you jam to your headphones cranked slightly above your “normal level.”

Little @chilipeppers @redhotchillipipers for you cats. Better believe I’ll be jamming this at @jjratiganbrewingco and @jerzeessportsbarglenside this weekend — both 9p-midnight.

Again, log off of this detrimental platform: there is not comparison, “I should be,” or anything else in between. Read a book — catch up on your literature — and go outside to greet one another.

I suppose I have dozens more to post, so cheers to number 2 (reel) back in this platform. Breaking into more weddings and corporate events to do this full time again and so stoked to see you in the weekends wherever I’m stuffed in a corner to sing for a bit! :) by @alexobiemusic

Hi! Before I say what I’m supposed to say, just want to reiterate how little of a shit I care about social media… 😂

Hate that I’m back here posting, in a way, but trying to move into larger markets for the first time since 2021.

No editing here, no fixes on vocal / guitar pitch. Just raw sound, exactly the way it should be.

I have to do a lot more of these covers to break into more private parties and corporate events. So, block me quick, because you’ve been warned.

Hope you’re all well. Hope you’re all happy. And, I hope you’re all doing something you’re passionate about.

Until we meet again. God bless 🫶

OH! LAST THING! This place (social media) is a trap. Go outside, talk to another human, and stay as far away from this shit as much as possible. It’ll ruin your health. Okay, bye.

This is how I “write”

I don’t like to sit down and think of lyrics. I think that takes away too much from the raw art that we can produce organically.

Instead, I set up the camera on my phone, and speak / sing whatever comes to mind.

Some days, when the mumbling comes out, I’ll play it back over and over again until I sing more lyrics that fit, or until something “makes sense” with the feelings that come to mind when I play the chords that I’m writing to.

The tricky part is when you feel something different on different days of writing the same song.

Could we be so daring to write about completely separate feelings / views / emotions in the same song?

I think absolutely — and we should do more of it 😉

Let them hate — just keep being YOU

Since IG is a highlight reel, I figured I’d show you something real: me messing up my own song 🤦‍♂️

As a songwriter, there are many days like this. Just roll with the punches.

Side note — I only got this correct like 3 times today 😂

Some days, ya just fuck up a little more than others 🤷‍♂️ by @alexobiemusic
