a story about enlightenment…creativity…and laundry…?

not sure if this has something to do with yoga but let’s call this entry no.3 into my #yoga #journey #journal

big thanks to varsha for sharing your story with me, I trust you’re well 🙏

#rishikesh #india by @alexschuchmann

and the moral of the story…maybe even a tiny piece of a cracked open coconut can spark a connection between strangers…maybe the cliche is true too “sharing is caring”…but to me personally most importantly self less action brings more joy to the self than conditional action. however sharing this is just to share, because this is all I can do.

#yoga #journal entry no 2. - practicing #karmayoga

music by @razaakeniola…self less action inspired by my teacher @thehimalayanmystic. and most importantly thanks to the lady for softening my heart and opening my mind 🙏 by @alexschuchmann

namaste! yoga journey journal entry number 1, kind of live from Rishikesh. curious to see where this research goes.

“When we really begin to do this, we’re going to be continually humbled. There’s not going to be much room for the arrogance that holding on to ideals can bring. The arrogance that inevitably does arise is going to be continually shot down by our own courage to step forward a little further. The kinds of discoveries that are made through practice have nothing to do with believing in anything. They have much more to do with having the courage to die, the courage to die continually.” - @anipemachodron in “When things fall apart”…shot in Dharamshala, India - September 2026 by @alexschuchmann

chilling at the foothills of the Himalayas with a dog and my flute, and it just rained and the air is nice and crisp and the people are smiling and the eagles are flying low and the waterfall is singing… and aahhhhhh good moment for a (grateful) selfie. by @alexschuchmann

Ending the week with a nice excerpt from our film with @hugowinderlind who speaks on the acceptance of our suffering here. What’s your take on this? Would you want to skip the part where it gets uncomfortable if you could?

listening is different when you become the creator yourself. Would you agree?

…another excerpt from a beautiful conversation with Boston-based practitioner and student of The Artist’s Way, @razaakeniola. Here, Razaak asked me which part of my creative development I’d find myself in right now, and I had to think of Julia Cameron’s term „creative recovery“…which seems quite suitable, as for years now I’ve been documenting artists inside their studios, inside their own practices, and somewhere along the way something in me woke up too…and may it just be some tootin on the sofa. by @alexschuchmann

A day in the studio with @sofia.serpa.arango is now live! And it comes with a beautiful drop of two unique sculptures titled „Javier“ that Sofia created from 3D printed resin, and with airbrush and handpainting. They are now available via @hometownjournal.eu

time is a sculptor too…and so we are silently celebrating two years of studio visits with artists we love, thanks for all your support over the last few years and the countless encouraging comments and messages. We’ve also hit the mark of 30 thousand subscribers on YouTube (which feels surreal!) Here’s an excerpt from our most recent film with the sculptor @irena_posner whom we visited in her studio in Carrara, Italy last month. Watch the whole film now on @hometownjournal.eu 🗿

Much love, the Hometown Journal team.
