New favorite pjs 🥲 Anything and everything German shepherd please. Saw these and needed them immediately. @tokyover_official literally has so many different dog breeds and animals and prints in pj form. I am obsessed. They graciously offered me a coupon code to share so you, too, can be cozy this holiday season with your favorite dog (or cat or raccoon or a million other cute things) on your pjs 💖 alex15 at checkout for a little discount! by @alexzmakesart

She roved ahead of me through the fields, yet would come
back,
or wait for me, or be somewhere.

Now she is buried under the pines.

Nor will I argue it, or pray for anything but modesty, and
not to be angry.

Through the trees there is the sound of the wind, palavering.

The smell of the pine needles, what is it but a taste
of the infallible energies?

How strong was her dark body!
How apt is her grave place.

How beautiful is her unshakable sleep.

Finally,
the slick mountains of love break
over us.

Some recent paintings that have helped me cope and quieted my brain. They also helped pay for Loki’s treatments that gave us almost 6 more weeks with him. Forever grateful for you wonderful, animal-loving people 🤍 by @alexzmakesart

I always thought the puppy stage and younger years were going to be my favorite to look back on. I was wrong. I loved Loki’s older years and the dog he became in the last years of his life. And our bond only ever got stronger. I swear we could communicate telepathically. He was sensitive to us and our emotions. He had a knowing about him. He was always gentle but his soft spirit really shined bright as an old man.

We appreciated the slow, beautiful things together. We’d lay in the sun or walk around our garden and smell the flowers. Watch the bees, the birds. I think we cherished each other deeply.
.
When he turned 10 last year (he died one week short of his 11th birthday by the way), I had a strong knowing it was going to be our last. He went everywhere with me. He got so many walks to the park and around the block. So many snuggles. So many treats. So so much quality time. He got so much attention- and he loveddd attention.
.
On August 5th said goodbye to our best friend. I thought it would be the hardest day of my life. It turns out August 6th was harder. I’m not sure how to move forward without him and our routine. The pain is excruciating. I keep reaching for him and talking to him and looking for him and listening for him. Everything is different. It’s hard and sad. He brought us such comfort and pure love and joy.

Thank you, Loki. I love you. Forever. Come find us again. by @alexzmakesart

If this isn’t heaven, I don’t want it by @alexzmakesart

Thanks for sticking around another month, buddy. Been one of the hardest months of my life knowing we don’t have much more time together, but I’m not taking one minute for granted. The animal medium told us you’re half warrior-half jokester and you’ve proved that everyday since we found out you were sick 🤎🖤 by @alexzmakesart
