Grateful for another lap around the sun. 🙏🏾 Grateful for the beautiful people who love me and genuinely care about my existence. I love you too. ❤️ Grateful to be of sound health, mind, and soul. Grateful for the life I've built, the places I've been, the memories I've made, and the experiences that have shaped me into who I am today. Grateful for every lesson, every blessing, every high, every low, and everything that brought me here. Most importantly, I'm just grateful to BE HERE. 41! Whew! 😂 Happy Birthday to me. 🎂🥳❤️ . . . #HappyBirthday #Libra #Menswear #ClassicMan by @alien_libra
This was another amazing day. 🇺🇬 So, I've seen this bird on YouTube a few times over the years and always found them fascinating. For starters, they look like something straight out of a Jurassic Park movie. 😂 I mean, just look at the footage below. Today, I spent the day deep in the Mabamba Swamp of Uganda searching for the legendary Shoebill, and man... seeing one up close is absolutely insane. This was actually my first time ever bird-watching, and I enjoyed it WAY more than I thought I would. Uganda just keeps giving me experiences of a lifetime. 🇺🇬❤️ Hope you enjoy the footage! #Shoebill #ShoebillStork #MabambaSwamp #Uganda #VisitUganda by @alien_libra
Spent the day as a true Rwandan Cowboy at the @ngabo_karegeya | Ibere Rya Bigogwe Farms with these beautuful majestic beasts called the Inyambo. Really had a good time out there..... The farmland was massive and sooooooo beautiful. 👌🏾 I even had a first time experience milking cows and drinking straight from the udder. We all had a laugh out loud monent when I asked could I get up under there like a calf and drink straight from the nips 😂😂😂😭😭😭 Anyway, here's some fun facts about the Inyambo: -They were literally royal cattle. Inyambo were specially bred and raised for Rwanda’s kings, and owning these beautiful long-horned cattle was a symbol of wealth and status. -The cowboys actually sing to them and build relationships with them through songs, calls, and commands. Some cattle even have their own names and praise songs. -Those massive horns serve a purpose. Besides looking absolutely insane in person, the horns contain blood vessels that can help the cattle release body heat and stay cooler in Rwanda’s warm climate. -They were bred for beauty, not simply meat. Traditionally, desirable Inyambo were selected for characteristics such as exceptionally long, symmetrical horns, stature, coloration and graceful appearance. They functioned partly as symbols of prestige. #RwandaTravel #Travel #Inyambo #Cowboys #BigogweFarms by @alien_libra
COUNTRY 42: So the craziest part about doing the Gorilla Habituation Experience is that because these gorillas are still wild and aren't fully accustomed to human contact yet, they remind you VERY quickly that you're in THEIR territory. 😭🦍 These are still extremely powerful wild animals, and they tell you from the beginning to keep your distance and follow the guides' instructions. We got charged at a few times. Fangs out and a fucking terrifying growl/yell or whatever the hell that was that nearly made me take a full shit in those Gorillas jungle. 😭😭😭😭 Serge literally got PUSHED by the silverback. 😭😭😭 And every time we started getting close, they would MOVE AGAIN. 🤣🤣🤣 That's when the real adventure started. There are literally NO TRAILS. We're in the thick of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with guides using MACHETES to clear a path through the vegetation just so we could keep up with them. And apparently the gorillas woke up that morning and said screw them furless strangers because they took us up and down mountains for FOUR HOURS NONSTOP. 😭🤣 When I tell y'all my thighs are burning like a mofo right now. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Easily the hardest hike I've ever done in my life. But that payoff? Standing in the middle of the jungle, exhausted as hell, and finally getting that close to a wild mountain gorilla family... FUCKING INCREDIBLE. 🦍🇺🇬❤️ I'd do it all over again. ...after my thighs recover. 🤣🤣🤣 #Gorillas #GorillaTrekking #Uganda #BwindeImpenetrableForest #Wildlife by @alien_libra
I FINALLY DID IT!!! 🦍🇺🇬 GORILLA TREKKING IN UGANDA Easily one of the very best experiences of my entire life. But I didn't do the regular gorilla trek. I chose the Gorilla Habituation Experience, which made this shit even crazier. 😂 These gorillas are still going through the process of becoming accustomed to the presence of humans. They're gradually getting used to humans being around them while researchers and trackers study their behavior, so the entire experience feels a lot more raw and unpredictable than a traditional trek. And let me tell you... Being deep in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, standing just feet away from a massive silverback that isn't completely accustomed to humans yet is a DIFFERENT type of feeling. 😭🦍 There were moments when every survival instinct in my body was telling me, "Yeah dread... we probably shouldn't be this fucking close." 😂😂😂 It was terrifying yet absolutely FUCKING INCREDIBLE at the same time. And the HIKE to actually find them?! 😩😂 FUCKING INSANE. Up and down mountains, through thick ass jungle, mud, vegetation, uneven terrain and no damn trails... all while knowing there's no guarantee these fuckers are just gonna be sitting somewhere conveniently waiting for you. 😂 You have to go FIND THEM. By the time we reached them, I already felt like I had accomplished something. Then you finally see that first gorilla... Man. Worth every fucking step. 🦍❤️ Watching them interact, eat, play, and move around in their natural environment, knowing you're basically a visitor in THEIR world, is something I'll never forget. No zoo. No cages. No glass. No barriers. Just us... and them. One of the greatest experiences of my life. PERIOD. 🦍❤️🇺🇬 #GorillaTrekking #GorillaHabituation #GorillaHabituationExperience #MountainGorillas #Bwindi BwindiImpenetrableForest by @alien_libra
