Caricature v portraiture, making her first self-portrait, and the impact of colour on her work: interview with Alisa published in the exhibition catalogue available on site at 885 West Georgia Street.

Tête-à-Tête opens today and runs through 6 November @gallerypendulum by @alisa_mcronald

@alisa_mcronald is a textile artist, transforming discarded clothing into yarn and breathing life into every remnant of fabric and fiber. During her residency, Alisa has created a series of sculptural textile dolls—assemblages that blur the lines between sculpture, storytelling, and play. Inspired by hauntings, kitsch, trolls, fairytales, and fairies, these works also echo the handmade playsets, flip dolls, and puppets that shaped her childhood imagination, transforming nostalgic forms into contemporary reflections on craft, memory, and the fantastical. by @alisa_mcronald

Working on flip dolls at my residency @gladstonehouseto This one is based on The Green Man, a folklore figure that is a nature god of rebirth. Mine is both still and an active watcher.

I’m making these flip dolls at my residency at @gladstonehouseto

They are inspired by thoughts on multiplexity and experiences that change us and by stories of Faery Changelings.
