@all.our_babies is a community-focused art and wellness project, which received a grant from the Transformative Arts Fund, that brings together art and healthcare to support Black mothers and babies. It looks at birth, care, and reproductive justice from a hopeful, forward-looking perspective.

In a city where Black mothers face disproportionately high rates of maternal and infant mortality, All Our Babies emerges as a radical intervention with direct community impact. Led by artist Jameelah Rahman, the project challenges systemic medical racism and historical erasure. The collaboration with Black birthing people and medical professionals in immersive environments has provided vital support resources, elevated lived experience as knowledge, and fostered wellness through art. As part of the culmination of the work, an exhibit of the artwork will be on display in City Hall for the public to view, creating visibility and dialogue around Black maternal health.

Black birth is sacred. So is our future.
Too many of our stories go untold. Too many of our babies are lost. Too many of our mamas are grieving in silence.

But not here. Not anymore.

On Sept 14, we gather to honor our stories, celebrate our culture, and imagine the future our ancestors dreamed of.
