It’s been awhile since I’ve posted, but still out here reading and collecting books. So grateful for my latest gift 🎁 Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Minalima edition). Looking good in its new home 🥰 #bookishthings #booklover #bookstagram #harrypotter #bookworm by @all_aboutbooks25
Hoping everyone has had a wonderful Christmas season 🎄🫶🏽 ft one of my favourite reads this year and perhaps my favourite book from the Red Rising saga (so far). #christmas #bookworm #bookstagram #booksbooksbooks #booklover #bibliophile #redrising #morningstar ✨ by @all_aboutbooks25
The majority of my posts are about books that I’ve read and enjoyed! Very rarely do I post about books I dislike. This time, I’m posting the only book I’ve DNF for the year 😭 it’s the third and final book in the Powerless series but I just couldn’t get into it. I struggled with the second book but powered through, thought I could do the same with this one but unfortunately I just couldn’t. It’s super rare for me to DNF a book, I’m always trying to give it a chance. Sadly, this one was not for me 😬 #books #bookworm #booklover #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #bookish #bookishlife by @all_aboutbooks25
✨My kind of paradise 🙌🏽🥰 always love a good browse at the bookstore! Absolutely love going through @whitcoulls_nz top 100 🫶🏽 ✨Spot any favourite books? 📚✨ #book #booksbooksbooks #bookworm #booklover #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookstore #booklover #bookish #bookishlove by @all_aboutbooks25
Saw this at @whitcoulls_nz and I really had to look away 😭😂 I already have three copies of Pride and Prejudice 🙈 but I don’t have it in this edition 🤭 so, I guess I better add it to my Christmas wish list 🫣 Definitely one of my favourite classics and it’s such a comfort read too ✨ ✨Do you own multiple copies of your favourite book(s)? If so, which book(s)? 🥰 #bookworm #booklover #booksbooksbooks #booklife #bibliophile #bookishlove #bookishthings #prideandprejudice #janeaustenfan by @all_aboutbooks25
✨Golden Son✨ This was some PRIME piece of literature. The storytelling was addictive, a lot of action, politics, scheming and it was so full of grit! I loved everything about this book. It was pure perfection ✨ There were a lot more battles in outer space and a lot of gruelling missions in this second book. I found the friendship beautiful and the betrayal brutal. The plot twists blew my mind and the ending to this book has got to be one of THE best cliffhangers I’ve ever read. I’m so late to reading this series and for once I’m glad, because I was so quick to get the next book after that ending 🫣 Overall, I don’t even have the right words to give this book justice, it was amazing and it’s been a really long time since I’ve read a series that has me hooked. Whatever your highest rating is for books, that’s what I’d rate this 🙌🏽 Recommending this to anyone who hasn’t read it yet ✨Buckle up boyo you’re in for a treat 🤭 #books #goldenson #redrisingtrilogy #redrisingsaga #bookworm #booklover #bookishlife #booksbooksbooks #bibliophile #bookstagrammer #bookish #bookishlove #bookreviews #bookrecs by @all_aboutbooks25
‘Man cannot be freed by the same injustice that enslaved it’ 👌🏽 Red Rising, this story had it all: rebellion, trials, power struggles, enslavement, politics, revenge and justice. Set in a future Mars, Darrow our MMC is a low-caste miner (Reds), they are ruled and enslaved by the Golds. After a tragic incident Darrow becomes recruited by rebels and is transformed to infiltrate the Gold’s society and destroy them within ✨ I’m quite new to the sci-fi genre so I wasn’t sure what to expect or if I’d even enjoy it. But here I am…already reading book #4 (Iron Gold) ✨ 📚The sci-fi elements and the world building took awhile for me to get used to, but once I could envision the story I flew through the pages with ease, immersed in an interesting story. It has a YA vibe to it and it’s an easy read. I find it a good sci-fi story for anyone wanting to get into this genre. Although I liked this book I did not love it. It did not have that wow factor for me personally. There were plot twists and schemes but nothing that really screamed epic for me. In saying that, this first book was still good and kept me invested. Now, the sequel to this book was on another LEVEL! Those books I LOVED! It was nothing short of epic 🫶🏽🙌🏽 and so this series is officially one of my favourites. I’m already claiming it as a favourite even though I’m only on book 4 🙈 Overall, I felt that Red Rising was just setting everything up, for the epic events ahead 🥰 I’m so glad I gave it a chance because I’m still reeling from a lot of the events that took place in books 2 and 3✨(more of that to come in a later post) Give it a chance, you won’t regret it 🥰🙌🏽 #book #booklover #booksbooksbooks #bookishlove #bookish #redrisingtrilogy #redrising #booksta #bookstagram by @all_aboutbooks25
Unfortunately, I did not enjoy this book 😢 I had such high hopes for this one, but I struggled to get into it. I found the FMC so frustrating and insufferable. She was miserable the whole book. It simply wasn’t for me, there was a lot of heavy description, adjectives and it felt too much. I’m not a fan of purple prose and that’s why I did not enjoy this as much. It’s such a thick book but I can’t say there was anything that I found interesting unfortunately. It just wasn’t my kind of fantasy. Probably an unpopular opinion, but it was one of my disappointing reads for the year. I really wanted to like it 😢 #book #booksbooksbooks #bookworm #bibliophile #booklover #bookstagrammer #booksta #bookcollecting #fantasy by @all_aboutbooks25
“Blood Over Bright Haven” My favourite fantasy read of the year! This book 🫶🏽😍 it was refreshing and unlike any other fantasy book I’ve read. I loved the magic system it was so unique. The writing style was easy to follow and so addictive. I could not put this book down and pretty much flew through the pages. M L Wang is so talented, the way she captivates with her writing and the plot itself was just perfect 👌 I was hooked from the start! That intro was 🫣 ✨If you like: - Dark Academia - Rivalries - Unique magic system This book was it 🙌🏽 Highly Recommend ✨🫶🏽 It must be noted though, that this can be quite dark and included some pretty heavy themes. #books #bookworm #booksbooksbooks #booklover #bibliophile #bloodoverbrighthaven #bookrecs by @all_aboutbooks25
The first Sarah J Maas book on my feed 🫶🏽🥰 her books got me back into reading a few years ago. I started reading Throne of Glass back in 2015 and loved it, followed by a Court of Thorns and Roses in 2019 📚 The Crescent City series are the most recent books I have read from her 🌆 This first book took me awhile to get into, this was due to the heavy world building. However, once I got past that, it became such an interesting world. This series is slightly different from her other books as it’s set in an urban world. There were so many different mythical creatures too: Mermaids, Faeries, Werewolves and Angels to name a few 🤭🫶🏽 It was such a fun series 🙌🏽 Although the books are pretty thick, I found myself flying through them. The writing is addictive and the plot twists are always worth it too 👌🏽 ✅ Urban fantasy ✅ Adult Fantasy ✅ Romantasy #sjmbooks #crescentcity #books #bookish #bookishlife #bookishpost #booklover #bookworm #bibliophile #bookcover #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram by @all_aboutbooks25
#bookrecommendations This. Book. 📖 I absolutely loved it! I love Taylor Jenkins Reid’s (TJR) writing style. She has become an author that is an auto buy for me. I love how she weaves the past and the present so intricately, until the story comes together perfectly. There is an embedded narrative or a story within a story in this book. It all begins with a magazine reporter who meets and interviews Hollywood star Evelyn Hugo as they plan to write her biography. Evelyn rose to fame in the 50s to 80s. The story is divided into seven parts all named after Evelyn’s partners. What I love is how effortlessly TJR takes us back to a younger Evelyn and how the story unfolds. It is told from Evelyn’s perspective. Throughout the book you’ll often get Press clippings which I think added a special touch to the whole book. This is such a page turner, simple and perfect for getting over a reading slump 🙌🏽✨ Genre: ✅ Historical Fiction ✅ Romance ✅ Contemporary elements #books #bookish #bookworm #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #book #bookstagrammer #booklover #bookrecs by @all_aboutbooks25
A book/series that I will always include on my feed 🫣 The Harry Potter series has such a special place in my heart. My siblings and I loved watching the movies as kids, always awaiting the next release and watching it in cinemas. I finally read the books as a teen and have since re-read this series often throughout my adult life 🤭 Hopefully when life isn’t so busy, I’ll get a chance to watch all the movies again ✨ #harrypotter #nostalgia #bookworm #bibliophile #booksbooksbooks #bookstagram #always #bookcover #bookish by @all_aboutbooks25
