Sorry for the radio silence 🫠 After a lifetime of being rootless, I finally got all the home I could ever need for myself and my family. It feels gross to have such great, momentous things happen when so many of my peers are struggling right now- so I’ve been reluctant to share about it.. However, anyone who knows me, knows how much this stability means to me.

I’ve been pretty singleminded with nesting, relishing the chance to put bold colours on walls that I won’t have to repaint at a landlords’ whim. I’ve given notice for the old place and by the 1st of August I’ll be out of there.

Then it’s on with developing the @allhandsondeck.wales HQ 🥳🥳

I can’t wait to share my plans and to start bringing 3 1/2 years of community vision to life!

You can check out some of the early plans on the website and get involved here - https://joescustomtattoo.wixsite.com/allhandsondeck/get-involved

Did you know that all of our new clothing will be hand printed, using environmentally friendly inks, and organic, eco conscious materials? More news to come on these soon!

Two months ago, over 100 visionary artists sat and listened to the incredible healing properties of this amazing family of organisms, in a talk delivered by none other than @paulstamets 🖤 Our job was to shine a light on these amazing medicines and battle mycophobia!
.
As well as the laughing Amanita Muscaria, (said to be the gnostic tree of life!) look, and you will find:
.
#turkeytail - a powerful anti-carcinogen ⚡️
#reishi - an incredible anti-inflammatory ⚡️
#lionsmane - a fascinating nootropic that aids brain cell regrowth and said to be a tool against Alzheimer’s ⚡️
#psilocybe semilanceata - that contains Psilocybin, an amazing substance that’s on the front lines of modern psychiatry⚡️
.
This painting will be part of an exciting VR art exhibition next month and proceeds will be going to seed an exciting new community project that Charl and I are working on through @allhandsondeck_wales ⚓️ (more info soon!)

PS: We picked up keys for a new shop today and I can’t wait to show you what it means for @verestreettattoos and All hands on Deck 🖤

* HELLO! *

Anyone else find it a bit weird getting back into a normal routine after some time off, or is it just me?

I’m currently neck deep in paperwork (because being organised enough to file your taxes with less than a week to go before the deadline is totally overrated...) but just wanted to firstly say a HUGE thanks to everyone who got involved with the new merch just before the end of last year. Always so grateful to have your support! 🙌🏼 Secondly, a massive thanks to everyone who has- and continues to be- patient with us whilst I’ve been working mainly from home and splitting my time between the business and raising our son. It’s been an amazing yet challenging two years that has left me eager to get back behind the desk in the shop, and I’m genuinely excited that I’m now able to put more of my time and energy back into our little business.

TLDR; new year, new me 🖤
