I can’t express the amount of gratitude I felt on this day and continue to feel as each day goes by. After my traumatic accident, it took a lot of strength to remain positive and continue waking up in the right head space. I can’t begin to express the amount of pain I went though physically, emotionally, and mentally. My whole life I was one to always be smiling and laughing and optimistic and after this accident I felt like I lost a part of myself. It was truly so challenging but now I’ve never been happier. It’s crazy how much has changed in only a year. Your mindset is everything. I truly don’t think I would have grown without the mindset I had during my recovery. If anyone is going through something right now and doesn’t see a way out of it, I promise it will be okay. A year ago I lost three liters of blood, felt as if there was an axe going in and out of my leg, 46 staples later, constant aching and stabbing pains, flatlined, and now I go to my dream gym working out muscles I never thought I’d be able to feel and use again. Nobody can change your mindset but YOU. If anyone has any stories or wants any advice on how to stay positive please feel free to reach out.💪🏽🤍 Looking around the bonfire with everyone I care about surrounding me on a day so significant made me so thankful. I’ve met all of you in different ways, whether it was at the beach with your dog, at the line in the restaurant bathroom, at the gym, living together, or mutual friends, I can’t begin to express how happy I am that our paths have crossed. I’m so grateful for this journey. by @alli_b1417

Happy Saturday 🌞 by @alli_b1417
A couple years ago, I severed my femoral artery in a freak surfing accident and was told I might never run again. I went from accepting that I was going to die in the back of an ambulance to crossing the finish line of a marathon 26.2 miles later. I remember lying in a hospital bed, praying every night that I would regain feeling in my right leg and one day be able to run a single mile. A marathon felt impossible. The road back was filled with setbacks, pain, frustration, and moments when progress felt quite the opposite of close, but crossing that finish line made every challenge worth it. If someone offered me the chance to erase the accident, I wouldn’t. It completely changed me. It taught me resilience, perspective, and gratitude in a way nothing else could. Never let someone else’s limits become your reality. What once felt like the worst moment of my life became the reason I appreciate every step, every mile, and every day a little bit more. I’m so utterly grateful for such an incredible experience and beyond thankful I got to run it with some of the best people.🤍 by @alli_b1417
