MY TESTIMONY:
On Sunday, July 30th, 2017 my church, New Zion Missionary Baptist Church, entered its second Sunday of revival. It was so packed that my mom, siblings, and I had to sit in (what we Missionary Baptists call) the “A-women corner”. The Lord’s plan that day wasn’t for us to have preaching but rather a sweet testifying service. During this, I remember telling my mom that I didn’t feel well. But what I came to discover was that this wasn’t an ordinary sickness: I was lost and separated from my Lord and Savior. I began to seek God for the salvation of my soul (at my seat, because I was too nervous to go to the altar). My nine-year-old, innocent self was terrified of being separated from my loved ones for eternity. Soon enough, I fully surrendered, and as Christians were passing around shaking hands, an instant, indescribable peace replaced my sorrow. Curled up in my seat, I stared out a window and wondered if I had been saved. I described my feelings to my mom, who was already made aware of my trouble, and she told me that whatever happened was between me and the Lord. I then asked God for a specific sign of my salvation. He didn’t give me the exact sign I asked for, though, because it was given to me in a different way. My Auntie, being led by Him, came to ask me if I was okay, and that was when I realized that God had surely saved my soul!

That November, I followed the Lord in baptism, joining the church I was raised in most of my life. I had to build up a lot of courage to do this. My dad, the pastor of New Zion Church, baptized me in the freezing, winter creek and had to dunk me in the water twice because my whole body wasn’t submerged the first time! One thing was certain: I had to truly repent before being baptized, and that baptism added nothing to my salvation. It is what the Lord specifically asks of us born-again believers, though I could never repay Him for his blessings. I think Saint John wrote it best: “And there are also many other things which Jesus did, the which, if they should be written every one, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written. Amen.”

MCHS Homecoming Queen 2026 👑💙

Words cannot describe what a blessing this experience has been! I have always admired homecoming queens from the past: not for their title, but for the role model they were for me when they weren’t wearing the crown. I pray I could be just as much of a light for our youth. What a special experience this was, and it was made even more special to be able to stand by my sister, @averyaustin5510!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Macon County High School, for this opportunity. Thank you to all of my family who helped make this possible. Special shoutout to @heatherbgann for all the work you put into homecoming week.

Tigerette 4 life!! #seniorsunday by @alliekateaustin

I am honored and excited to announce my verbal commitment to play women’s golf at Cumberland University!

First and foremost, I want to thank God for lighting my path throughout my life.

Secondly, I am incredibly thankful for my parents and their constant guidance and sacrifices. Without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Also, thank you to all of my family and close friends for your love and support.

Thirdly, I want to thank my high school coaches (Bev, Rick, and Isaac) and my teammates for pushing me to get better every day. A special thanks to @malonegolfacademy for believing in me before I could believe in myself.

Lastly, thank you to Coach Williams at CU for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.

I am so excited to see what all God has in store for me on this journey. Go Phoenix! by @alliekateaustin

Happy Sister’s Day and Senior Sunday! by @alliekateaustin

9 years ago today, the Lord saved my 9-year-old soul.

I think it would be stating the obvious that the first and last 9 years of my life were very different. But the most profound difference is that once, I knew of God, and then, I knew God. No level of scriptural understanding or inherent goodness could have established my relationship with Jesus; rather, His amazing grace and mercy upon a sin-stained child in need of a Savior is what bound me to Him. It’s a peace that is hard to understand until you experience it yourself—everlasting freedom from guilt and shame and a promise of eternal nearness to God. Salvation was not something I had earned—if anything was to be earned, it would have been a promise of eternal suffering for all of my shortcomings—but was so mercifully gifted to me by One who covered the cost of sin for me (Romans 6:23).

I have some encouraging news for you: you, too, can be saved for free. All you have to do is put your full faith and trust in Him. Make an altar in your heart; give up your idols and fears. God is right there extending His hand out to you. You don’t have to be of a certain denomination, ethnicity, or background, for “whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13).

You are created for more than you can think or imagine. You are made in the image of a Creator (Genesis 1:27) who wants a personal relationship with you and promises blessings if we will just pick up our cross and follow Him (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

“The LORD bless thee, and keep thee: The LORD make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The LORD lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.”

This picture deserves a permanent place on my feed! 🤍

If there’s one thing I will always be proud of, it’s the endless love and support from my family. Captured here at my district tournament game last night are five generations of my family — immediate and extended — with only a few missing who still show up for me every chance they get.

What you can’t see in this photo is just as powerful. It’s the deafening cheers from my family whenever I score. It’s my dad calling with advice and encouragement while on his way to officiate a college game. It’s my mom praying over me when I feel anxious or discouraged. It’s the surprise bouquets of flowers from my family reminding me to keep going, to never give up. The list could go on forever.

I’m beyond grateful for the incredible support from my community, but there is truly nothing quite like the family God chose for you — the ones who stand beside you for life. There are so many reasons to step onto the court, and right after my Lord who deserves it all, I will always play for them. by @alliekateaustin
