This was the SONG from my youth choir days. Strained soprano voices 😂 wrapping up camp meetings wishing for tea and honey from singing our hearts out an octave too high. What songs still stick with you from back in the day? This reel is long but I didn’t feel like cutting it down. The most fun thing to me as a musician is the freedom of creativity. We were born to create! 🎹 by @allisonaldrichmusic

Singing Battle Belongs @philwickham with the kids. Those family harmonies though. I LOVE that my kiddos sing worship songs. I get to see them serving frequently at church on the kids praise team and band. :) hearing them sing together though is just special. #Harmony #battleblongs by @allisonaldrichmusic

Testimony time. ❤️

There was a season when I was serving full-time as a pastor’s wife and worship leader while battling severe depression and anxiety attacks. I felt isolated, couldn’t be real with anyone, struggled with sleepless nights and panic attacks, and fell into unhealthy ways of coping just to find relief from the battles in my mind.

I never thought I’d find myself there. I used to think people just needed to pray more or that their hearts weren’t in the right place.

But I was DESPERATELY seeking GOD. More than I can explain.

Thankfully, a sister in the Lord helped guide me back to His Word when all I could see was darkness.

I was putting on the WHOLE armor of God, standing on HIS promises, and some days barely standing at all, waiting on Him to fight the battle.

I remember lying curled up against the wall in the sanctuary, crying out to GOD, begging Him to TAKE this from me. I couldn’t understand how I could feel this way as a Christian, as a pastor’s wife. I was afraid to show my vulnerability because I thought, “If she can’t make it, how can I?”

But through that war, God began healing places in my heart I didn’t even know needed healing.

My cries of desperation became melodies.

I remember getting up off that floor, walking to the keyboard, and singing the lyrics to the first song I ever released:

“Rapture Me”

“Take me away from where I am now… I want to feel Your love in this place… Rapture Me.”

That song carried me. It gave me hope. That day, a songwriter was born.

Years later, “Don’t Give Up Your Fight,” another song born from that journey, has been used in over 222,000 TikTok videos and generated more than 113 MILLION streams across social media and streaming platforms.

You can’t tell me God doesn’t take broken things and make them beautiful.

The enemy did what he could, but GOD turned it for GOOD.

If you’re struggling, don’t give up hope. Your battle doesn’t mean you lack faith. Seek Him, hide His Word in your heart, and let others help carry you through.

He is with you through it all. ❤️ by @allisonaldrichmusic
