I think every day should be doughnut day, if I’m being honest 🤣

Get @reshare_app • @haley_j_casey It’s National Doughnut Day, and let’s be honest: If you’re going to grab a cup of coffee and a donut this morning, you might as well grab a book to enjoy along with them! What could be more on-theme than BROOKLYN THOMAS ISN’T HERE by Alli Vail?

Spilling the Tea: Dragons, Thieves and Romantasy at Whistler Writers Festival

I had the first of a couple of very proud friend moments this afternoon when I got to watch Alli Vail facilitate the first romance panel to appear at this festival. She spoke with authour of eighty (80!) books in a variety of romance genres, Karina Halle, about romantasy specifically and the role that the billion dollar industry is playing in keeping publishing afloat. Their conversation explored all the whys and the hows of the genre climbing into the mainstream the way it has and also explored the reasons why its readers are often too shy to admit to it.

Whether you like it or not, romance is a legitimate genre and romantasy is leading its way into the future.

Just in case you needed something to read, @whistlerlibrary can help with that. by @allivail

I think that I’ve maybe become a full out romantasy nerd researching for this event. There have been some real rabbit holes. Don’t miss it! There are still tickets available at Whistlerwritersfest.com. 💖 by @allivail
