He made sure not to miss a single moment🥹

Father’s Day, June 2018. 🤍

Josiah and I had just recently gotten married, and one of the things that was really important to us was taking each other back to the places in the world that had become so special to our hearts.

For me, one of those places was Scotland.

Scotland is a beautiful country, but what made it so special to me wasn’t necessarily the scenery or the places I visited. It was the people I met along the way. And one of those people was my Grandpa. 🤍

While studying abroad, I met a Scottish gentleman who, through the most unexpected friendship, became family. He adopted me as his American granddaughter, and I gained a grandpa on the other side of the world.

So when we returned to Scotland in 2018, I decided to surprise him. No warning, no big plans. Just a knock on his front door on Father’s Day.

At the time, I had no idea just how much that little surprise would mean to him. Watching this video back now, I can see it written all over his face.

I’m so incredibly thankful I decided to knock on that door.

I think about how easily our paths could have never crossed. How a stranger became a friend, and a friend became family. And how some of the most meaningful relationships in our lives are the ones we never could have planned, but the Lord knew we needed all along.

I would give just about anything to knock on that door one more time. 🤍

Missing you, Grandpa.

God knew I needed this man. My best friend. My protector. My Pop Pop. Everyone please wish my guy a Happy 98th Birthday.

As you all know, it’s tradition that I read your wishes to him & I can promise you - it makes him so, so, so happy to know how many fans he has. 🥰🫀🧚
