POSTS STORIES REELS

We thought IVF would be the answer.

We thought we’d do the tests, get the meds, and be pregnant in no time.

But nothing about this journey is that simple.

Over 5 years, we learned the hard way that it’s never just one thing.

Both of us had issues.

Jacky’s DNA fragmentation was sky high.

I had PCOS, Natural Killer Cells off the charts..

And we’d already been through miscarriages before we even got those answers.

We had to fight to get the right tests.

We had to demand proper investigations.

And in the meantime, we did everything we possibly could on our own.

We overhauled our diets.

Cut out alcohol.

Changed our entire supplement regimes.

Jacky changed how he trained. I tracked everything.

We worked on sleep, stress, mental health, and our relationship.

We spent hours reading, researching, chasing referrals, advocating for ourselves, and each other.

And even with all that… it still took time.

A lot of time.

This community we’re building — aloomah — exists because of everything we went through.
The confusion. The isolation. The trial-and-error. The grief.
But also the strength. The love. The hope that somehow never left us.

If you’re in this fight too — we see you.

And we’re building this for you.

When we started trying for a baby, I focused on diet and supplements.

But I never once thought about how my training routine could affect my fertility.

I was hitting chest, arms, and abs on repeat…and completely skipping leg day.

Then I read a study that changed everything.

Leg training boosts natural testosterone 🔥

It’s one of the most effective ways to stimulate your hormone system, especially squats, lunges, and leg presses.

I also cut back on long cardio sessions. Kept them under 45 minutes to avoid oxidative stress.

Did it help? I don’t know for sure.

But my DNA fragmentation did improve after I made those changes.

And now we’re 25 weeks pregnant 🙏🏽❤️

If you’re trying to improve your chances of becoming a dad…Don’t skip leg day.

I wish I knew this earlier!

For a long time, we struggled.

Not just through IVF.
Not just through loss.
But as a couple.

It was like living in limbo — every month hoping, grieving, trying again.

One of us would break. Then the other. And we’d take turns holding each other up.

Until eventually, after our 3rd loss we were both on the floor 💔

And no one talks about that part.

Not enough people talk about how this journey affects your relationship.

The pressure. The blame. The silence.

The way you start to feel more like teammates in a medical warzone than two people in love.

But we made it through.

Not because we’re stronger than anyone else.

Not because we had answers.

But because we learned to stop pretending we were fine.

We found people who got it.
We rebuilt from the mess, together. As a team 🤝

That’s why we created aloomah.

To give people what we wish we had — support, reassurance and real community.

Because infertility doesn’t just affect bodies.

It touches everything.

And if you’re reading this and you’re somewhere in that storm,
We want you to know: it’s not your fault.

You’re not alone.

And there is a way through.

The male fertility story nobody tells | Ep.149 w. @jacky_aloomah 🎙️

Jacky Maughan, founder of Aloomah Fertility, joins us to talk about male infertility and the side of trying for a baby that men rarely talk about.

Jacky opens up about the pressure of ovulation day,

Being told by his GP that “you only need one sperm”,

And finding out years later that he had a varicocele, a condition that was damaging his sperm and COULD be fixed.

He shares the lifestyle changes that took his sperm quality from under 1% to 5%,

The year he and his wife Eleanor took off to find each other again,

And their emotional final round of IVF with just one embryo left, which led to their son.

If you’re a dad, trying to become one, or know someone who’s struggling, this one’s for you.

Mentally and physically done. This was their last chance…

@jacky_aloomah gives an emotional account of the last round of IVF before they called it quits on fertility interventions.

It’s a long and painful journey for many people. But Jacky’s here to share his experience.

Things that worked. Things that didn’t.

How males need to do more investigations and how him and his wife stayed came out the other side stronger than ever.

Our first round of IVF worked. And then...we lost our baby 💔

This was Eleanor talking about that day for the first time on Jacky's old podcast back in 2025.

If you’ve been through it, you’ll know there’s nothing that prepares you.

I might look excited, but I’m not celebrating what’s in this data...

A month ago I launched the "Half the Picture" poll with one question...

"How long did it take before the man was investigated further for fertility problems? 🔍"

681 of you answered (over 500 from the UK)

And honestly, some of what you told me is horrifying. Couples paying thousands privately just to get the man looked at. Wives pushing for years. Men told their results were “fine” with no explanation. Rounds of IVF before anyone examined him properly.

So why the excitement? Because until now, this was just stories. Now there’s data behind it, and data can’t be ignored 💪

Massive thanks to everyone who answered, shared it, and backed it from day one 🤝

I am planning something big for this data...its time to TURN UP THE VOLUME ON MALE FACTOR FERTILITY 🔊🔊

This episode was never supposed to see the light of day 🤫

Last year, we sat down on camera for the very first time to talk about finally being pregnant...after over five years of infertility, three pregnancy losses and multiple rounds of IVF.

We recorded it for an old podcast, Bare Chat...but the show ended, and the episode was archived. Never released.

Until now 🛬

We’ve decided to share it as a special episode on 'No Straight Lines', because this conversation means more to us than almost anything we’ve ever recorded.

I can’t believe it 😮

500+ people have now told us when the man in their relationship was actually tested for fertility problems.

What they said NEEDS TO BE HEARD 🔊

If you’ve been through infertility (or know someone who has) the poll takes 60 seconds and it’s anonymous.

LET’S HIT 1000 🎯

Can trying to conceive ruin your seggs drive? 💔

Once sex becomes tied to ovulation tests, fertile windows, tracking apps and the pressure of “we need to do it tonight,” it can start to feel like a task rather than intimacy.

Instead of “I want you,” it becomes “I’m ovulating.”
And when every sexual encounter carries the question of whether this will be the month you get pregnant, that pressure can affect both partners.

Obviously, this won’t be the case for everyone. For some people, trying for a baby can bring you closer, make sex more exciting and leave you feeling even more connected.

But it’s important that all sex doesn’t become baby-making sex.

Trying to make a baby shouldn’t mean forgetting about the sex you were having before you decided to make one. ❤️

We had to ask 😅

Eleanor asked @feedyourfanny the question everyone's thinking. The answer's better than you'd expect.
