POSTS STORIES REELS

Only 57 examples of the BMW ALPINA B12 5.7 Coupé were ever created.

Just four left Buchloe as right-hand drive. And only three of those were delivered with a manual gearbox.

Finished in Mauritiusblau Metallic, this E31 is one of those three cars.

Its comprehensive restoration journey began in the UK, where the team at @bmrperformanceltd stripped the vehicle and @impactbodywork carried out a bare-metal body restoration and complete respray. When it came to the mechanical heart, the owner wanted nothing less than origin: the 5.7-litre V12 was crated and brought home to Buchloe.

Here in the Alpenstraße, our technicians have rebuilt the twelve-cylinder engine entirely from the ground up, with final mechanical assembly, custom exhaust work, and a full Lavalina leather retrim to follow.

Over the coming weeks, we will document each stage of this extraordinary build.

In spring 2013, Buchloe entered entirely new territory.

The BMW ALPINA XD3 Bi-Turbo based on the F25 generation became the first Sports Activity Vehicle in the company's history. The technical benchmarks redefined compact performance: A 3.0-litre straight-six with twin-turbocharging, 350 hp and a massive 700 Nm of torque, paired with xDrive all-wheel drive and the 8-speed sport automatic transmission.

0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds, a top speed of 253 km/h, and the dedicated Buchloe chassis calibration that combines effortless long-distance composure with remarkable agility.

Instantly recognisable with 21-inch ALPINA CLASSIC wheels, the integrated front apron, and signature quad tailpipes.

A modern collector's piece that delivers genuine sports car values with everyday versatility.

Burkard Bovensiepen refused to let an ordinary black rubber valve interrupt the symmetry of the 20-spoke wheel.

To preserve an unbroken rim line, Buchloe engineered an unconventional solution for the ALPINA CLASSIC wheel. The valve stem sits protected inside the center hub beneath a lockable die-cast wheel cap. From there, air routes directly into the tire through one hollow spoke.

Engineering driven entirely by aesthetic purity, shown here on the BMW ALPINA B4.

Cold asphalt, plenty of rain, and the smell of engines running hot.

The ALPINA CLASSIC Track Day at the Anneau du Rhin in 2026 was exactly what these cars were built for: real preparation, car talk in the paddock, and a passion for cars from Buchloe. No matter the weather.

Thank you to all the participants who made this day special, both on and off the track.

Countdown to the circuit. Next week, the Track Day returns to France.

Every BMW ALPINA was engineered in Buchloe with a dual character: effortless long-distance composure on the road, and composed precision on the circuit.

Lining up in the pit lane before the first stint, multi-spoke wheels on the curbs, and owners sharing the asphalt as it was intended.

Step inside 1989.

Analog mechanical details from Buchloe: the tactile click of the switches, the adjustment of the iconic turbo boost control knob on the center console, and the mechanical starter turning over into a deep idle.

Headphones recommended.
