This is a special one that I feel quite honoured to have had the opportunity to make, commissioned by the awesome guys at Roland Drums. Roland wanted to create something quite unusual for a musical instrument company and instead of going for the industry standard product ad, in their words, go with a more β€œJohn Lewis & Partners" emotional narrative approach and so I was invited in. Inspired by the experience my son went through, the result is the emotional journey of a teenage girl who, having just moved to a new school, finds friendship through her love of music. Finding the right lead was challenging and we spent months looking for the ideal actress. We needed somebody who was not only strong enough an actress to pull off the character's emotional journey but also someone who was also a genuinely excellent drummer. We saw what seemed like hundreds of super talented young women but thankfully our patience paid off when we discovered Jessie, a seventeen year old young drummer who was everything we could of asked for in an actress and musician. We also looked at what seemed like every school in the South West, finally deciding on Tonyrefail Community School in Wales. Not only was it an amazing location but our communication with Alison and the team was simply a joy. I cannot recommend them enough. Beautifully shot by DoP Joby Sessions and captured by Josh Bamber and the team we may not have had the budget of a John Lewis ad but I genuinely think we pulled off the emotional journey of the new girl, finding her tribe in a new school. Massive props to Oli, Jules and Mars from Roland Corporation for their ambitious vision on this piece but also unwavering support, regardless of how mad the ideas I had and the challenges that they could potentially bring! @jobysessions @joshbamber @magic_lantern @oli_wiseman_drums @tdp73 @adp.band @directors_uk @rolandglobal @freelancedirectors @bristolcrew @hosttalentgroup @thejts #musicindustry #music #drumming #Teenagers #Commercials #adverts #ChristmasAds #FeelGood #Filmmaking #FilmDirector #DirectorsForumInsta by @alundpughe

I'm absolutely delighted to announce that my script "Colours" has been short listed for development by @amdani.co welshnewwave !!! Mary is a pale skinned girl from a middle class military family. Bobby is a black boy who works as a mechanic in a garage. When Bobby picks Mary up for a date this evening he will not of known that she has stolen her father's service pistol or that a recent event, that neither will speak of, will come back to haunt them. by @alundpughe

THEN/ NOW. If you know, you know... by @alundpughe
Last month I had the pleasure of attending the City of Bristol College Final Show and Awards, an event showcasing the end-of-year films created by the college’s film and media students. The evening was a celebration of emerging talent, creativity, and hard work, culminating in a series of screenings and an awards presentation. As a guest speaker representing Team People, I was invited to share a few words with the students, an opportunity I greatly appreciated. I also had the chance to watch their work on the big screen, and I was genuinely impressed by the quality, passion, and originality on display. The films reflected not only technical skill but also thoughtful storytelling and bold creative choices. After the screenings, I stayed briefly to speak with students and staff, including Corrina Cooper, Ali Grant, and other members of the teaching team. It was a pleasure to connect with such committed educators and enthusiastic young filmmakers. One of my key takeaways from the evening was a renewed sense of optimism. In a time when the world can feel uncertain, witnessing the drive and potential of these students was inspiring. If their talent is any indication, the future of the creative industries looks incredibly promising. by @alundpughe
