Few things are more fun than getting good friends from the Southern Appalachia on Maine birds and running dogs together. Thanks for stopping in @blueridgeforester - Ya’ll and Whitley and Boone and the rest of your setter crew are welcome anytime - now, if I could just crop that Boone’s tail … 🔥🔥🔥 #englishsetter #bonasaumbellus #ruffedgrouse #maine by @amanandhisbirddog

Had to run back to midcoast for a Jeep repair and just got back late this afternoon - tomorrow looks like a washout, so just needed to run the boys to let them stretch their legs prior to dinner, an hour’s run, tops, in a cover 5 min from cabin I thought was tapped out from scouting it pre-season. Almost didn’t bring the gun. Glad I thought better of it. This was first 10 min. 🐓 point, 🐓 retrieve #rooster #americanbrittany #ruffedgrouse #walkingthedog #maine by @amanandhisbirddog

Recently heard friend and guide, Jake Perry @superior_upland, state that the most valuable contribution sports offer their guides is a small portion of their lives. In return, we strive to match that contribution with our own and in so doing set the stage for unforgettable experiences. That hits the 🎯. Rinse and repeat, and by some magic alchemy those contributions on mutual offer become friendship. So it is with @jaredmcnabb and his stunning #braquefrancais, Pete. We’re grateful for your patronage and your friendship #maine #maineupland #ruffedgrouse #birddogs by @amanandhisbirddog

Both Lincoln and Rooster rocked a new cover today, but the shooting only rewarded the O.G. #lincoln #birddog #ruffedgrouse #americanbrittany #maine by @amanandhisbirddog

Take me back to the Northwoods. Walking behind Cedar, her brothers, and dad on the hunt for the elusive ruffed grouse during peak fall foliage… 🧡 the harvest was just the cherry on top. by @amanandhisbirddog

Witnessing a great bird dog fully coming of age and into their own is a miracle to behold: the learning to strategize and work the bird through the ballet of perfect moves it takes to outwit and outmaneuver the King of the Gamebirds, many minutes on point, holding the bird and waiting for a hunter or cocker buddy flush, knowing how to diligently search for and find a downed bird that soared on the wing then plummeted over the road and down into a ravine filled with timber slash and hidey holes, the prompt and yet gentle hundred yard retrieves … you wouldn’t believe it were you not there to see it - and I’m the lucky guy who always is. 🐓 boy, you are worthy of your game and your sire and you got some hella pumped up kicks for our favorite birds. I just couldn’t be happier with the badass bird dog our sweet pup has come to be #rooster #comingofage #birddog #ruffedgrouse #americanbrittany by @amanandhisbirddog

It takes a village to make an uplander and a birddogger, and the mayor of my village in so many ways has been @nk9training - as he has been for so many - and his foundation sire for @pbgundogs, Blanco, is likewise the undisputed mayor for his canine protégés, Lincoln being just one of the many happy citizens of Blancoland. Rest Easy and Run in Glory, Best Boy Blanco. We’ll look forward to the joy we’ll feel when we see you on the other side. Wait for us there and show us the way as you always have here #bestboy #birddog #uplandheaven #llewellinsetter by @amanandhisbirddog

On this day, October 1, 2026, it is hard to imagine anywhere at any time has ever had more spectacular fall foliage. Vacationland, you’ve really outdone yourself this year #maine #autumn #themainewoods #ruffedgrouse #americanbrittany by @amanandhisbirddog
