• Dark Romantasy time! ✨🖤✨ 📖 The Emperor’s Enemy by @jasminemasbooks Jasmine Mas 🖤 THREE THINGS I LOVED: ✨ THE YEARNING. 🕷️ ROOTING FOR THE VILLAIN. His name is Tarantula and we love him, ok? “Thou art not my enemy, syxzal. Thou art mine to worship.” 🦉 THE OWL. Her best friend is an owl named Squire who calls the enemy “spider slut” and then somehow forms a friendship with the bad guy…it makes for some hilarious moments. And the FMC? An absolute badass. ⭐ My rating: 5/5 🌶️🌶️🌶️ by @amandalovesbooks_
There were so many good reads in October! Only 3 of these weren’t on my TBR so I did pretty well with sticking to it! 😂 Swipe for my October audiobook wrap up. 🧡 Are any of these on your TBR? #mmromance #romancebookstagram #bookstagram #darkromance #romantasy by @amandalovesbooks_
• This was a rare case where I judged a book by its cover…and I’m so glad I did! I went into this book completely blind, just hoping that the story would be as fun and spicy as the cover suggested. It was all that and more. There was actually a lot of emotional depth here that I wasn’t expecting and I really loved these characters. The first surprise was that the MMC is a demon. An actual demon! ❤️‍🔥 Without giving too much away, he has never experienced someone who truly sees him for who he is and the FMC has always been controlled by her mother. I want to say thank you to this author for really understanding the dynamic between an uncaring parent and their child who constantly tries to make them proud and remains hopeful for a connection and then the grief but also empowerment that comes with never achieving that dream. The spice was smoking hot...I mean he can become two people at the same time and can shadow play... hello! 🔥 But this book has so much more than that and the actual relationship that develops between these two and the communication that they have with each other really helps them evolve and flourish. It’s refreshing to see! I’m so excited to continue the series - I’m especially intrigued by Coldin 🐍 One of my favourite quotes: “Sometimes I wondered who the truly evil ones were-demons like me who embraced acting out and sinning, or the humans who told girls like Marla that they weren’t worthy of acceptance.” #darkromance #romance #bookstagram #romancereader #readersofìnstagram by @amandalovesbooks_
