HIiii if you’re new here! 🤗 And if you’re not, thanks for hanging around 🤸‍♀️ (It’s about to get rambly) I started this account many moons ago with the aim of ‘health promotion’ through education and to showcase some of the clinical Pilates I was teaching and practicing at the time. That evolved into sharing client stories to a personal blog throughout my pregnancies & postpartum journeys. And NOW I’m just lurking in the background with a whole heap of ideas without any time to execute them!!! 🤯 🌚🌝 Despite my um-teen years of experience as a physio I’m still learning something new everyday!! And that’s WHY I love what I do! 🤩 I work at Roar Physiotherapy a small private clinic within a 24hr gym and I work with people through all phases of life. I love assisting women through pregnancy and returning to exercise postpartum. I have two little humans of my own and being a mother is the greatest gift 💝 ✨ I’m a 100% fully certified Foot Freak 🦶 (crowned by a friend - why thank you!!) 💁🏽‍♀️ 👑 Preventative healthcare isn’t sexy (yet) 💃 But it’s becoming more attractive as I see my dream clients becoming more proactive rather than reactive.. making themselves better for a better quality of life. For that whole mind, body, spirit shizz! 🧠 🧘‍♀️ 💫 Outside of work.. I get excited about Milo, puzzles and investing ☕️ 🧩 📈 What brings you here? What’s keeping you here? Send me the answers Or more questions! by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist
Clinical Update ✨ My new work hours are Mondays & Fridays with the occasional Wednesday, during school hours. After many years of working predominantly at Cockburn, I’ve moved to our Bibra Lake clinic, located only 12 mins apart 📍 It’s been a lovely change of pace, including treating different clientele from all walks of life 🤰🏽🤱🏽👩‍🦼🧑🏽‍🦯‍➡️🏃🏻‍♂️‍➡️ It absolutely warms my heart when people come back to see me many years (and many kids) later! 💓 Whilst my availability is limited during this season of my life, my cancellation list is very effective. If you can’t find a suitable time online, contact our team with your preferred days & times on 0421833801 📱 I’m lucky to work with an epic team who will also be able to take exceptional care of you 🤗 Wishing YOU great health, happiness & healing in 2026 💪🏽 😁💆🏽‍♀️ by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist
Pregnancy is a time of rapid change 🤰🏽 What exercises are safe during pregnancy? Do I need to stop training? Can I still train my core during pregnancy? How long should I wait to exercise after birth? What are my options after cesarean? What can I do about abdominal separation? How can I reduce my risk of pregnancy pain? When should I see a physio? Reduce the overwhelm and confusion 🤯 Be informed and feel empowered 💓 Comment or DM me ‘WEBINAR’ and I’ll send you the details 💌 #pregnant #perthphysio #pregnancyphysio #pregnancycourse #pregnancyeducation #pregnancycoach #pregnantinperth #pregnancytips #pregnancy #pregnancyclass #pregnancypain #pregnancypains #pregnancyexercise #abdominalseperation #diastasisrecti #diastasis #rectusdiastasis #womenshealth #pregnancycare #perthmums #aussiemums #womenshealthphysio #physio #physiotherapist #cesarean #pregnancyclasses #pregnancyjourney #antenatalclass #tryingtoconceive #birthrecovery by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist
Spending hours working from a laptop? 💻 You’re likely spending just as many hours looking DOWN at a screen 🙂‍↕️ ✨ IF ✨ you’re working at a desk… (yes I’m looking at you, laptop users on the couch and in bed….!) 👀 THEN a simple laptop stand can make a BIG difference to your workstation setup - Raising your screen closer to eye level - Reducing the need to constantly look down - It encourages a more upright head and neck position - It helps create a more comfortable working setup BUT remember Forward head posture isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Posture isn’t about finding one perfect position and holding it all day.. ⭐️ YOUR BEST POSTURE IS YOUR NEXT POSTURE ⭐️ Say that again, out aloud 📢 Change positions regularly Take movement breaks Enjoy a hot cuppa Pet a dog 🐶 ..Okay maybe don’t get too carried away!!! You get the gist though?!! Setting yourself up for comfort is setting yourself up for success!! 🧑‍🩰 P.s If you have neck pain, you should get that checked out 🤗 by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist

Can you balance on one leg for a minute? 🦶 How about with your eyes closed?! 😑Tricky huh?!! 🫤 It’s one of those things, if we don’t use it, WE LOSE IT!! 🤷🏽‍♀️ AND if you don’t measure it, you can’t manage it! ⏱️ Stop scrolling, open the timer app and get balancing! I want to know your score!! 👇🏽 Balance training isn’t just for the oldies 😆 💃 🕺 💚Get 15% off TFC toys using my code “AMBERPHYSIO” by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist

Did you know we have Compex machines available at Roar Physiotherapy? Where Recovery 🤝 Technology When pain, swelling or surgery makes it difficult to properly switch a muscle on, electrical muscle stimulation can help activate targeted muscles and complement your rehabilitation program. 👀 Check out our Physio’s Jack and Amber using our Compex machine to activate Amber’s quadriceps muscle 💪🏼 Compex may be useful for: - Re-training muscles after injury or surgery - Supporting muscle activation after joint injuries - Maintaining muscle strength during periods of reduced activity - Supporting recovery alongside progressive strengthening Your physio will assess whether Compex is appropriate for you and your injury type and where it can fit into your recovery plan 📖 Pop into our Bibra Lake clinic and ask one of Physio’s to test it out and get your rehab and recovery back on track! by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist

❗️This is an advanced exercise❗️ (Read on for examples of where to start..) During pregnancy, the growing uterus alters the mechanics of the thorax (think ribs, diaphragm, back and abdominal muscles) 💭 Some changes include: - increased rib cage circumference - elevation/flaring of the lower ribs - increased infrasternal angle - altered diaphragm position - altered abdominal wall length-tension relationship Whilst we don’t need to get hung up on the specific angle of the ribs (nor the width of the abdominal diastasis) 📐 .. We DO need to look at the trunk as a whole and how it functions with breathing and movement.. Sounds simple huh? It’s more than doing a few sit ups in the first few months after birth.. We need to progressively overload these muscles (like all other muscles) in a way that is meaningful (to the person standing in front of me!) Here’s some ideas of stepping stones to get there! 🪨 - 360° breathing - Curl up + reach - Single leg lift - Bird-dog - Side Plank knees - Plank on knees - 4pt kneeling hover - Tabletop - Dead bugs And when appropriate, start adding resistance 💪🏽 - Loaded carries (suitcase / farmers / overhead) - Push-ups - Rows - Squats - Deadlifts - Overhead work Save this 🔖 Send to yourself (and your friends) for your next workout 🏋️‍♀️ Want someone to hold your hand? Maybe not!? We can help guide you! 😎 📍 Roar Physio by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist
Happy World Physiotherapy Day 🫀 This year’s theme is the role of physiotherapy and physical activity in preventing, managing and rehabilitating of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Physiotherapy isn’t just about muscles, joints and injuries. From helping people become more physically active and manage cardiovascular risk, to supporting recovery and independence after stroke 💪🏼 Today we are celebrating our profession, our patients and the power of movement 🏋️‍♀️ #worldptday #worldphysiotherapyday by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist
Our Physiotherapy team recently came together for a practical education session on Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Training. BFR is a training technique that can be incorporated into rehabilitation and exercise programs for muscular growth and strength gains in people who would otherwise not be able to resistance train! Who might BFR be useful for? 🦵Early stage post knee operations including: ACL and meniscus reconstruction, total knee replacements, tendon repair. 🏋️‍♀️ Are struggling to build or maintain strength when heavier weights aren’t suitable. 😣 Are finding it difficult to get back into the gym because you’re experiencing pain or soreness. 📈Need to work around a sore or sensitive joint while still getting some strength training in. Continuing to learn, share knowledge and develop our clinical skills helps us provide the best evidence-informed care to our clients and community! Comment below if you’d like more information on BFR or would like to see if it’s appropriate for your next rehab session #roarphysio #BFR #bloodflowrestriction #rehabilitation #perthphysio by @amberhanrahan.physiotherapist
