Businessman Fidel Kuri Grajales, former owner of the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz, is preparing a lawsuit for approximately $120 million against Ricardo Salinas Pliego and his company, Arrendadora Azteca.

This legal action follows a May 2026 ruling in which a judge ordered the definitive dismissal of criminal proceedings for procedural fraud, determining that the alleged acts did not constitute a crime.

Kuri spent two years and nine months in custody. He is now seeking financial compensation for the personal, financial, and business-related damages he claims to have suffered.

The conflict also encompasses the dispute surrounding the disaffiliation of the Tiburones Rojos de Veracruz and the potential recovery of the franchise.

The $120 million figure represents the compensation claimed by Kuri, rather than an amount awarded by the courts. This new legal battle against Ricardo Salinas Pliego could open yet another chapter in their ongoing judicial conflicts. by @americatime_
