Most days I can’t believe that my job consists of singing all day, teaching the coolest people I know, and getting to see their work. 🙈 How did I get so lucky?

These are 4 of my favorite stretches for my singing dancers! 💗

I always start lessons and practice sessions with stretching! This does a few things:

-Helps us get out of the crazy day, get out of our heads, and into our bodies.
-Helps to reset your body to mindful breathing for singing!
-Allows you to take inventory of any tension you may be carrying physically so you can release it.

Singing is breathing! And when we mindfully connect our bodies to our breath and our bodies, it gives us an easier start into singing.

Learning a new skill can feel so scary! 😱 it’s important to remember you aren’t alone in the journey!

I asked my students what they would tell another dancer beginning their singer journey. Here’s what they said! 🤍 by @amkvoicestudio

I’m a little late to the trend 🤷🏻‍♀️ but taking ownership of your voice journey is actually the best!

I had a dancer student get a self tape request for the national tour of a musical. She didn’t call me in a panic (which is a perfectly acceptable response btw), she wasn’t insecure about her ability, or stress about what to sing. Instead, she dove head first into the challenge and showed me her submission with a huge smile on her face. What a win!!!

This win didn’t happen overnight. She was this confident because she had a history of commitment to lessons and her own personal practice, she gave herself permission to make mistakes, and developed a process that worked for her.

I bet she felt really chic. 🤍

It’s really freeing over here on the other side of fear! If you’re ready to take the leap and change your relationship with your voice journey, head to the link in my bio! Book a FREE 30 Minute Connection Call, and let’s start the journey today! by @amkvoicestudio

Happy trails to @dabria.aguilar on her last day in Moulin Rouge! 🌹🖤 I’m so glad I got to see her perform!!

Dabria has put in so much hard work and patience into her voice throughout her time in the show. Getting to see it come together was such an incredible privilege as a teacher!

So proud of you! 👏🏼 give her some love as she takes her final bows! by @amkvoicestudio

Come refresh an old aria with me! 🎶

I had so much fun singing this with @salon.night last weekend! I don’t perform opera very much anymore, so it was a fun challenge to pull out this aria from my college days!

Here’s a peek into my process, and hope it helps you refresh some old music in your new voice too!

Note: I did this voiceover at the airport in case it’s a bit messy haha! by @amkvoicestudio

But in all seriousness: if you’re looking to take the leap into developing your voice journey, I (and my dog) love teaching dancers! 💛

I offer:
-a strong technical foundation to turn professional dancers into confident singers
-understanding of how the dancer body meets the singer body
-committed weekly lessons to helping you grow long term

I’m currently building my spring schedule! Come see what it’s all about by scheduling a free connection call at the link in my bio!

The voice studio in the wild this winter! 🩶

-I had a blast supporting @ainsleigh.rund with her show @heyygetrhythm! Getting to see @kensiekeele @cameryn.kelly and @annabellauricchio do their thing in it was such a huge treat!

-I started taking dance classes again! So a little post class treat with @madihofe was so fun! Who else wants to come to a post-class yap session? ◡̈

-Getting to see @camrynsummer’s artistic journey these few months has been such a joy! Between choreographing a musical AND writing and performing her first (amazingly, beautiful, funny, and tearjerking) show, I loved getting to cheer her on!

👏👏 And the year is just getting started for all of my talented dancers!!

If I haven’t seen you in the wild yet, what are your winter wins? Drop them in the comments! by @amkvoicestudio

This is what my students have said about their mindset shift in 2025! 💛

I tell them all the time, “so much of singing is mental!” Mindset is so important. When we shift from looking for a short term fix to committing to seeing your voice grow long term, you begin to see results—not just vocally, but also in your appreciation of your voice and yourself! When we can allow ourselves to be messy, to put aside the perfectionist tendencies, and take up space it becomes about so much more than singing—It becomes about letting your voice resemble who you are ◡̈ And that’s what it’s all about. The technique comes with it.
