walking in new life with christ!
POSTS STORIES REELS
a year ago today, my big sister went to be with our Maker. i wish i could say this year has gotten easier, but i think i’ve just learned how to carry it differently. i miss her more than i could ever put into words, and i think about all the things i’ve lost because she’s not here anymore. but somehow, God has met all of that with so much grace. He has shown me this deep grief can be accompanied by great joy. how remarkable! i’ll never grow tired of talking about her. how could i? i had the most incredible big sister. she believed in me, spoke life into me, and played such a big part in making me who i am. for 8,100 days, God gave me the gift of Daisy. i’ll never stop thanking Him for that. one year closer to our reunion, dude. i love you forever!💚🌼 by @amyjuarezzz

half a year since my world flipped upside down and i heard the worst news imaginable. it’s been the longest six months of my life yet it feels like i’ve blinked and here we are. six months of having to constantly remind myself my big sister really isn’t coming back. my heart truly aches when thinking about all the things she’s missed out on. so many happy things i couldn’t celebrate with her and so many hard moments she couldn’t sit with me for. i’d do anything to hear her voice in person again instead of a dream or through a video. anything for another hug, another call, another text, or one more random zelle because she felt bad about her daughter offending me in some new way. but thank God for the time we did have together, thank God for the new life He offers, and thank God for the hope of heaven. i don’t know how i could handle this grief if not for the promise the Lord makes to be near those who are broken hearted. there’s been an intimacy with Him like i’ve never experienced before there, and as heartbreaking as her loss has been for me, i get to be comforted by the fact that today we are six months closer to never being separated by death ever again. i love you so much daisy, half a year closer to our sweet reunion!! by @amyjuarezzz
lately i’ve been trying to understand what life looks like with loss woven into it. grief has a way of settling into every moment—quietly, loudly, and in all the spaces in between. it’s constant, and yet, even there, the Lord has been unbelievably gentle with me. somehow He keeps placing goodness in front of me, letting sorrow and mercy sit together in the same room. only a God like Him could do that. one of the clearest gifts He’s given me has been community. people who didn’t wait for me to speak or ask. people who felt the Spirit’s tug and moved. they met needs i never voiced, loved my family and naomi with a tenderness that felt sacred, and stepped into my pain without hesitation. they knocked on my door, called, prayed, cried, and sat with me through moments i couldn’t stand alone. they completely embodied what it means to weep with those who are weeping. they didn’t need an invitation—they just showed up, again and again. i’ve seen so much of what they’ve done for me, and i know there’s even more i’ll never know about. i am eternally thankful for them in more ways than i could express! & through them, i’ve learned the beauty of living the way God designed us to—held by people who love Jesus, strengthened by a community that stays close in both joy and grief. praise God for His kindness. praise God for His people. praise God for redeeming even the heaviest of circumstances. #newyearsamecommunity by @amyjuarezzz
