Next stop: Ankara, Turkey 🇹🇷

A journey through rich history, ancient civilizations and a country that continues to amaze me at every turn. Türkiye is full of stories, beauty and history that stretch back thousands of years. And I’m taking it all in.

COMING TO DOWNTOWN CALGARY | 2027

A new chapter for this lobby.

A considered approach to commercial interior design, where architecture, materiality and detail work together to shape the experience of a space.

Currently in development. Completion anticipated early 2027.

You spend hours dialing in scale, bringing in warm textures, and balancing a massive double-height space so it feels grounded—knowing your only moment to take it in is standing on the second-floor balcony before handing over the keys.

That’s the beauty of home staging. From up here, every layout choice, rug proportion, and furniture placement is exposed. If a open-to-below living room doesn’t feel right from the look-down, it won’t feel right walking through the front door.

A sofa can be beautiful and still be completely wrong for your room.

I see it all the time: homeowners fall in love with a piece, buy it, and then try to make the room work around it.

Design the room first.
Then buy the furniture.

Because beautiful furniture in the wrong proportions doesn’t elevate a space — it throws everything off.

High-end design is rarely about adding more—it is about managing contrast. When pairing heavy, high-contrast Calacatta marble with vertical walnut slatted paneling, the key to keeping the space grounded is the finish on your metal elements.

Satin brass acts as a visual bridge, softening the cool movement of natural stone without competing against the deep depth of rich wood grain.

When these three textures align in the right proportions, the result feels intentional, quiet, and effortlessly luxurious.

A beautiful image can start the conversation. It just can’t answer all the questions that come after it.

Where does the furniture go? How does the room flow? What happens when the walls, windows, doors, stairs, plumbing and structure all have to work together?

That’s where design comes in.

If you’re thinking about building or renovating, let’s talk about what’s possible. @amyleedesigninc

The mood board was the idea.
Now we can see it.

A first look at how the vision is coming together for this Calgary kitchen — warm, refined and intentionally understated.

I wanted the space to feel luxurious without feeling overly designed. Clean lines, beautiful materials, thoughtful proportions and just enough warmth to make the kitchen feel inviting.

This is one of my favourite parts of the design process: taking a collection of ideas and turning them into a space that actually feels cohesive.

Calgary homeowners: if you’re planning a renovation or building a new home, let’s create something that feels like you — but better.

Calgary kitchen in the works.

Warm oak. Aged brass. Natural stone. Deep olive.
Quiet luxury, with a little edge.

This is the starting point.
More soon.
