Something Pointless was nominated in a bunch of categories at SIMIFF 2026 @simifilmfest including "Best Orchestral Score" , and we ended up taking home "Best Writing" and the Jury Awards! 🏆

Beyond awards and nominations, the whole festival had such a great vibe. It was really special to be surrounded by so many passionate filmmakers and feel that genuine sense of community.

So grateful to everyone who put their time, talent, and heart into this little film.

And a huge thank you to @katiegaribaldi and @composerjoe for organizing such a welcoming, wonderful festival and making the experience so memorable.

There's only one word that can describe the excitement I had working on this TMNT trailer. But you know what that is...

ZepFOCUS!!! From the Academy Award-winning producer Brenden Hubbard @rawhide_ and talented director Asa Bailey, “Something Pointless” is a touching drama that will give you all the feels.

Something pointless stars BAFTA winner Owen Teale (Game of Thrones, Robin Hood, Doctor Who), Sophie Thompson (Harry Potter, Eat Pray Love, Four Weddings and a Funeral), and Leo Harris @leoharrisactor (The Count of Monte Cristo, Lost Boys & Fairies) - the perfect cast for this profoundly touching story.

The film also features stellar cinematography by Keegan Chan @opiumfire , fantastic editing by Lawrence Cohen @lawrencecohenfilm , and moving score by Andrea Bellucci @andrea.bellucci.composer

“Something Pointless is a lyrical exploration
of the human spirit, delving into themes
of inter-generational connection,
the search for meaning in everyday life, and
the transformative power of seemingly
insignificant actions.
It invites audiences
to reflect on the profound impact
that
small
gestures
can have on
others,
illuminating the beauty
that lies hidden
within the ordinary.”
