Stacked class today. To be blunt…got my ass handed to me.

End of the day we pushed as hard as we could & brought our best look.

I tell my clients all the time to run their own race, so that’s what I need to remind myself as it’s hard not to be disappointed.

We got better & as this might be my last show I’m gonna go out knowing I did what I could in difficult circumstances.

Much love for those who support 🫀

And a couple of my clients will get this one….

Last set was most definitely the best set 👌🏾

Thank you @_.bkofficial._ for kicking my ass one last time. I love you bro, & will always remember how much you put into being my support system during these preps. by @andreknowles_

Welcome to the happiest 1 year anniversary.

On my birthday last year I attempted to take my own life.

Oddly enough it was actually because of a promise I made to myself on my birthday prior. Two years ago today I hunched over my toilet at Hawks Crossing my junior year campus apartment, purging. Again, and again, and again, until I thought I erased enough damage that the prior 10 hour binge ensued. I said to myself “if you are still doing this on your 23rd birthday, you really are hopeless and should just stop putting everyone around you through this.”

The year passed, and there were good months and there were not so good months. However, it just so happened that April was a “not so good” month. Leading up to my 23rd I binged the 2 days prior. The before my 23rd I woke up full of cramps and discomfort. That morning I purged for the first time in 6 months. To many a minor setback. To me on April 7th, 2023 it was the end of the world. I failed. I’m no better than I was a year ago. Looking back that was wildly inaccurate.

So I went to work at job 1 for the day. Equinox. I put on a big smile and acted like I would any other day.

Next I drove to valet at the Fiesta, but I never started that shift. I sat there in the parking lot for probably 20 minutes. Just numb. Then I drove away. Headed to the nearest liquor store. Bought the biggest bottle of vodka they had and drove off to Bloomfield train station. I parked on the second story of the parking garage. Cracked the seal on my gallon of vodka and chugged. My plan was to get too drunk to feel and hop in front of the next train set to arrive. Except, I never got that far. I didn’t drink often so those chugs. Yeah they knocked me right out.

I woke up to Bren putting his arm around me and basically dragging me into Ant’s car. They along with Sully, Alex and my Momma dukes are the reason I’m here today. The people I thought I was such a burden to that would be better off, couldn’t imagine a life where I wasn’t around.

That’s what helped me for a while. I lived for them, until I didn’t. Now I’m excited to open my eyes every morning. To share moments big and small, with those I love, and those I’ve yet to meet. by @andreknowles_

With men’s mental health month coming to a close I wanted to reflect on my own struggles. Over the last two years my physical and mental health has been in a constant fluctuation of ups and down.

After my first show I was diagnosed with BED and Bulimia. Being a man I didn’t know how to handle this.

Men don’t have eating disorders…

Men aren’t supposed to ask for help…

Men don’t have these struggles…

However I found out the hard way was the only thing I could do to live with it was to face it. Not to act like it wasn’t an issue or that it was made up in my head.

I live with ED and some days will always be harder than others. However now I have sought help, asked friends for support, and most importantly I’m patient with myself.

This disorder has taken so much from me. My peace of mind with food, social events, and sm more. I have spent nights in the hospital, nights in my bathroom throwing up until I cramp and bleed, and sometimes has left me the inability to even get out of bed.

However it has taught me sm more than it has taken. It has allowed me to not identify myself with being a bodybuilder anymore. To not devalue myself when I fuck up. Rather learn what my triggers and faults are and correct them for the future.

I start this prep with a healthier mindset. One that knows this is only a sport for my own enjoyment. One that knows that no matter how many bad days are ahead. The good ones will always stand above them.

You’ve survived 100% of your worst days.

Don’t give up.
