Hey everyone, I know you’ve been seeing less and less of me lately & I wanted to tell you the reason why.

I turned 28 yesterday & usually I feel the need to outgrow myself with every trip I take around the sun. However, I can honestly say that 27 was one of the most eye opening years I ever had to experience, but what was really different this time, was the surrender I had to accept. It was a difficult year, I shed so many tears & I exhausted all my effort into finding a purpose in this life. I tried so many avenues & watched myself fail at almost all my attempts & I watched as the people around me were receiving everything I ever wanted. I had to sit with my feelings of rejection, carry all my losses & swallow one big pill after another. Only this time I was meeting myself with grace, compassion & worthiness, because what else was I going to do when nothing was working out in my favor? I had to come to terms with the harsh reality that maybe everything I was searching for in this life was not meant for me. Including my dream of becoming a tattoo artist. A dream I’d been chasing since the age of 13 & yet, I surrendered to that idea as well. I told myself that maybe I was just meant to live & find moments of happiness in everyday in whatever way I could. I accepted my surrender & it felt like I was giving up. Then amidst this realization, I started to watch as doors started opening up for me & I was finally presented with the opportunity of an apprenticeship under an old, talented, friend of mine & I’ve been investing all my time in it ever since. Hence, my absence. Still, this doesn’t diminish the belief that I should be looking for joy in everyday, because I know that anything can be taken away at any given moment. So I’m grateful. For you all being with me on this journey, my mentor for taking me in & most importantly my 27 year old self for being so resilient & never giving up. I hope this inspires anyone, to never give up & to keep following your dreams because it’s instilled in you for a reason & always remember that your efforts don’t go unnoticed & you are not alone.
