POSTS STORIES REELS

this past weekend i had the honor of playing for my adopted sister (courtesy of @jrfield) as she walked down the aisle. i think this is now single-handedly one of the most personal & special events i’ve ever played for now.

paaaaaaaammmm, it’s a true honor getting to know your soul. you deserve every ounce of happiness that this world offers you and it’s amazing to see you grow with zach. i am happy that you found your love, excited to see where it continues to take you, and i can’t wait until we’re both obligation-free and finally able to visit each other more. until then, i look forward to the days i get to surprise you in medical school with some food and caffeine. ☕️📚

love you lots. - anjelica by @anjelicabauti

coda means the final ending of a piece…but it’s also the name i gave my violin when i was just 11 years old.

i rarely get good pictures in the 18 years i’ve had her, so here she is! 🎻♥️ by @anjelicabauti

This is Elle “L”. When we first opened Hiraya, all the cats were alphabetized until we could give them proper names at a later date.

Carrie (@carrie.vinci ) named this one Elle, and the name stuck. I got Elle her vaccinations, microchip, and documents to bring her home only to find out that the airlines did not accept pets on the main cabin and also couldn’t guarantee the cargo to be pressurized.

She has a scar running along back from what the vets think was boiling water/hot oil poured on her. She’s missing most of her incisors from trauma to the face.

I had to leave Elle at Hiraya knowing she’ll be safer there until I can bring her home in a few months. And wow, what a heartbreak.💔 by @anjelicabauti

☕️ Meet Kopiko!

Barangay officers found her at a tubigan—a section of the river where unwanted animals are drowned and abandoned. She has a broken lower jaw, which officers suspect was from being kicked repeatedly in the face.

When she arrived, she was:

• dehydrated
• malnourished
• covered in parasites
• too weak to stand or walk
• stuck to pieces of plastic and garbage

After giving her food, baths, treatment, and lots of love, she slowly regained her strength.

Now she’s constantly running around the shelter, looking for treats, and stealing food from the# other dogs whenever she gets the chance.

Say hi to Kopiko. 🤎

🐾Team Hiraya 2026! 🇵🇭🐾This incredible @wsuvetmed team helped build an entire veterinary clinic out of just 10 checked bags (with the ambu bag as my personal item).

Thank you for your trust, your adaptability, and your openness to learn about animal welfare through a different cultural lens. I’ve never shared my culture as openly as I have with this team, and I’ll always be grateful for them. by @anjelicabauti

Like all dutiful daughters, I carried pounds of kibble and gallons of water wherever my mom went. Before I ever even thought of becoming a vet, she was already riding the streets of Manila on the side compartment of a stranger’s tricycle feeding the strays.

Those rides planted the seed that eventually grew into Hiraya.

Hiraya did not begin with grants or endowments. The foundation of what would become Hiraya was built through hard work, my parent’s sacrifices, and my mom’s unyielding belief that even “askals” deserved a place to call home.

Very few people get to say their mom has spent a lifetime making the world a better place. But I’m lucky enough to be one of them. Congrats, Nanay! I love you! by @anjelicabauti

✨We raised $4,956 in a month!!✨ I can’t thank you enough for believing in my family’s work. I’m acutely aware that I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support of my community. And now, my community in the USA is allowing me to help me with my newfound community in the Philippines.

Life really does change for the better once you stop hiding and begin intentionally shaping the type of person you want to become. In 2023, I hadn’t even visited the Philippines in over 15+ years. This summer, I’ve worked up the courage to finally share this work & my culture with my classmates. You have my gratitude. by @anjelicabauti

🐾✨ Just a little over a week until the launch of Hiraya Animal Shelter!✨

WE’RE 83% TO MY GOAL! Every dollar makes a difference with helping us provide spay/neuter services and rabies vaccines for communities in Central Luzon— one of the Philippines’ highest rabies-burdened regions!

Please SHARE & consider making a donation! Even $20 will help us supply food to the cats & dogs already staying at Hiraya.
