Let them eat cake I said 🍰‼️

La Robe ✨

Originally my final project for my CAP at IFM, this dress was the catalyst for my exploration of Irish mythology in my work.

The silhouette takes inspiration from late 1800s and for the jewellery, I was inspired by medieval and Celtic designs. by @anna_m_kane

Part 2/2: La Chemise

Sewed entirely by hand, this Regency linen shirt took over 70 hours, using period-accurate techniques. Perfect for walking through a field on misty morning ✨

Part 1/2: Le Gilet

Made as part of a duo of looks (photos of its' dress counterpart to come), this outfit pays hommage to my home country of Ireland, her mythology and the worlds of some of her greatest creatives, such as Harry Clarke and Oscar Wilde.

Taking inspiration from the 1800s for the silhouette, I intended to blend otherworldly whimsy through Celtic symbols and the illustrated fabric, with the mortal world, exploring the influence and interaction between the two.

A special thank you to:
@danielwollesenhilfeldt for modelling and for the continued inspiration
