It’s not a mess, it’s a creative process in progress ✂️🤭.

FYI my pins are sunbathing on the floor atm 🌞

Sewing my Pinterest Board - Part 5 👗

Mockup 2: the fabric you pick for your mockup really matters! The bedsheet was never going to drape like silk, so mockup 1 wasn’t telling me the full story lol.

@sowninrain helped me start completely from scratch this time by creating the pattern. And we are trusting the process and I’m amazed by her skills and talent. Look how much better mockup 2 fits compared to mockup 1! And no more awkward zipper placement lol.

Mockup 3 is coming soon, and we’re getting closer to the silk 👀

Which mockup do you think fits better, 1 or 2?

Been putting off learning crochet for the longest time, until now 🧶. Special thanks to @chericejames_ and @mellowmakes_ for teaching a crochet workshop at @sowninrain ! I ended up going on a picnic with my sister to finish the bag. Just don’t zoom in on the holes in my bag lol 🙈

Sewing your own clothes is good until you take a closer look at the details 😭👀 But you guys don’t see that on social media cus I’ve been catfishing my sewing skills until now LOL.

A part of me admire these imperfections though, because you can tell someone made them by how imperfect they look 🪡. In a world where technology is so advanced I’ll gladly take my imperfections 🤭

Okay your turn, expose one sewing detail you’ve been hiding heheh 🙈

Part 2 - Recreating Dior Keychains

Ok, Dior’s wiener dog keychain is $1,200 and a full tank of gas for my car is now $110, so yeah… you know where this is going

This one is extra special because I have a wiener dog, so naturally I had to make one 💕

Doberman or another Dior one next? 👀 Send this to the wiener dog owner in your life 🐶

When I first started being creative, with jewelry making and then sewing, my one regret was not filming more of the beginning. Looking back, I wish I could see the mistakes I started with and how much I was falling in love with creating art.

And when I say I had a consuming problem… I racked up 600+ hours on my Nintendo Switch (*lol embarrassing) plus scrolling. That’s where jewelry making started. Then I needed another creative outlet to avoid burning out on jewelry, so I picked up sewing 3 years ago. Now I switch between the two and I love that balance while also exploring other creative outlets✨.

I think it all goes back to my childhood. I was always a creative kid, drawing, painting, and doing fun things with my hands. The first time someone asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said a fashion designer haha! It’s that little kid in me who still wants to be her 🌷.

So this is your sign to film the messy beginning, create more, and consume a little less 🫶

What would you start creating if you traded one hour of scrolling for it?

I spent 6 hours going through every single rack at 3 different thrift stores, including @salvationarmyus and @goodwillvegas @goodwillintl Spent $96 total, and the best part👀? Everything is made from a natural fiber and every piece gets a second chance 🌎.

You don’t need to spend $100 on a polyester sweater that won’t even last you when you can find a 100% cotton sweater for <$20.

This has to be one of my favorite matching sets! It’s floral and it’s butter yellow 🌼🌷💛. Lately I’ve been loving butter yellow don’t know what it is the color is calling to me 🥰.

I made this set last year and always look forward to wearing it 😭.

Wanted to buy more of this fabric from hobby lobby but they don’t even sell it anymore 😭. I know it’s rayon but sometimes there’s an exception…… 👀

Beginner friendly sewing workshop in Las Vegas that will end your fast fashion era ✂🪡

I’ve only ever sewn dresses, so pants are still kinda new to me. @zoe_sews comfy adjustable pants workshop at @sowninrain was so engaging and creative. Your ticket includes the sewing machine and the fabric, so all you have to do is show up 🧵😌

I brought my own linen fabric and challenged myself with French seams, so even if you’re experienced, there’s room to push your skills. And yes, you learn how to add pockets and make your pants adjustable 🥹

Once you learn the basic of making your own thing you can make anything and make fast fashion obsolete 😉.
