Wish I could have gotten a better photo of this, but I finished at the last second and had a flight to catch! But here’s this new drawing I did, 3x5 ft ballpoint on canvas. I was invited to show some work at Arcana in San Fransisco next month, there’s an opening on the 4th that you should totally check out. There will be a bunch of beautiful work by trans/queer poc artist in light of of kink, leather, the Folsom essence, you get the drill. I unfortunately will not be there because I will be in NY, which I am booking the 1st-4th btw! 🫣. Catch me at the closing though. I’m super grateful to have been invited to be apart of this show, I worked my little buns off to get this done in time, including multiple all nighters. I would grab coffee and a donut around 5am when I would start to crash and get hungry, I was also hitting a week sober at that point and was trying my best to not get turnt and actually enjoy being in my head. I will say, coffee and donuts and a good drive with your fave album and some cigarettes at 5am? Was almost as good as being drunk as fuck. Not actually but maybe like half way there.. but now I’m eating too many donuts 😪 Anyway, the donut moment had me deep in my feelings, because I have fond memories of my father waking me up at 4am to grab coffee and donuts and hit the car shows and swap meets. And just sitting with the fact that, I’ll never have that again. I was thinking about family loss and family gain. How my life has changed so drastically from meeting all the lil freaks out here. Shit like Folsom and the crazy sexy parties have genuinely brought me so much closer to myself and to community. I love my little new family that I’ve built, I love being hot and gay with my brothers. I thought about all my great memories with my besties. Ugh okay this is getting long and sort of random, just wanted to share my thoughts I guess. I will stop here 🧘 by @anommalouss
