Patrick- Metal4africa-up-date on Summerfest's new venue- Greetings Friends, Thank you again for joining M4A to celebrate our 20-year milestone earlier this year in Paarden Eiland. We pulled out all the stops for that one and the memories created will resonate with us for a lifetime! We're focused again on the long-term future of M4A since losing our long-time venue in Brackenfell. For SummerFest'27 we're returning to Stellenbosch, the town where our story began way back in 2007 and remained our home for 9 years. The Daisy Jones Bar has welcomed us with open arms, and we think you'll love it! If you don't know the venue, it's stunning. Set among the vineyards on the outskirts of Stellenbosch, The Daisy Jones Bar offers a large indoor stage (main concert area), a sizable undercover outdoor area (DJ entertainment area), and an even larger open-air outdoor area (Metal Market). The sound, acoustics, and lighting are top-class, and the venue recently expanded its backstage area, which is a game-changer for our operational requirements. Additionally, our M4A team has a good history with The Daisy Jones team, having worked side-by-side with their management on the RAMfest Cape Town project in 2020 and 2023 when they were running that festival. For those of you who remember, M4A hosted its own performance area at both of those. With this history of shared values and a vision for heavy music in this part of the world, The Daisy Jones Bar and its people feel like a natural fit for the next chapter in our story, and where we hope to exhibit our best work yet! Line-up details coming soon. PS: We know that for some of you in the Southern Suburbs, Cape Flats, Atlantic Seaboard and the Western Seaboard areas, Stellenbosch is a longer trip than you're used to. We hear you, and we'd like to help. If there's enough interest, we'll organise some well-priced bus transport from these areas. More on this to follow. TLDR; SUMMERFEST 27 IS HERE Date: 30 January, 2027 Place: Daisy Jones Bar Time: Doors open at 15h00 Tickets: R250 Early Bird See you there 🤘 by @anthea_brock

Dear Cape Town Metal Community, We have some news. Firstly, as happened in 2015 when we suddenly and without warning lost our home of 9 years (Klein Libertas Theatre), we have again lost our home of nearly 11 years. The property on which Viben Lounge operates has been bought by an adjacent property owner whose own business is expanding with immediate effect. However, in our 20th year of Friendship and Metal, the journey does NOT stop here! A new and exciting venue has been secured where our vision for the type of event you've become used to can continue. WinterFest'26 is taking place at The Alley, 85 Auckland Street, Paarden Eiland, Cape Town. Things to know: Plus points... • For our Southern Suburbs, Cape Flats and Peninsula friends, it's closer! • For our guests travelling from far, it's easier to access from the Cape Town CBD. • It has a larger indoor space. • There is a wider stage for more front-row access. • It has an undercover/waterproof outdoor area in case of rain. • It has more available seating. • It has more toilets for both ladies & gents. • For artists, it has a separate entrance for load-in. • For media, you'll have an actual media pit. • Stage production will be on par with what you know from M4A. Minus points... • It's further away for our friends from the Winelands & Helderberg. • Whilst we still have two entertainment areas, it's less feasible to run them both at full steam the whole time. We're accommodating this in the short term by slightly extending band changeover times and blasting the DJ area during those times. Additional info... • Times - we're extending the concert's running time by 1 hour. The first band will begin at 16h30, and the final band should finish by 00h30. • Food - we will have the same service provider. • Parking - similar to in Brackenfell, there is only street parking available in Paarden Eiland. The venue owner assures us that his own staff provide security & also marshall traffic for efficient use of designated areas. • Ticketing - if you are unable to attend owing to this venue change, you may request a refund. Otherwise, existing tickets remain valid. New tickets will have the new address. by @anthea_brock
