Tray/Trey (in remembrance of Trayvon Benjamin Martin) Digital Photography 2026 - Some of my earliest memories are of the Trayvon Martin case. I remember hearing the wailing of his mother as she called out the same name my mother called me: "Tray." I remember the fireworks my family friends bought in anticipation of George Zimmerman's sentencing, and how they sat unopened, their plastic glistening in the shine of the streetlights. I remember being sat down by my mother and encountering a tone I had yet to hear from her, one of grief-filled urgency, as she explained to me that there were people in this world who would revel in seeing my Black body hanging lifeless from a tree if I gave them any space to tighten the noose. Trayvon's lynching has followed closely behind me for all of my life. I had just turned six when he was killed, and that was the first time I remember ever reckoning with my own mortality. Seeing the wave of pain that washed over my home state, the sorrow on the faces of all the people who looked like me, juxtaposed with some of the most evil, vile rhetoric I have ever heard used to justify this unnatural loss of life, was a pain I can still feel in the back of my teeth. Being shown at such a young age how little the only country I could call home cared about my body, my youth, my livelihood... the rage has curdled into something deeper under my skin. At 20, I am now three years older than Trayvon was when he was murdered fourteen years ago, and I can still so vividly hear the sirens fighting to drown out the screams of his mother every time I walk to the corner store at night with a hoodie on. by @antkindasteezy_

Self-Portraits in my High School Bedroom Digital Photography 2026 - Coming back to my hometown always feels like a temporal anomaly, like the old version of myself is clawing out of my skin and trying to come back to the surface. I feel this most when i'm laying in my old bedroom, an altar to the person I used to be. The walls are a step above barren after I've dissected the contents for my new home in Baltimore, the polaroids shoved into the corner of my dresser work as a compass to the life I used to live. As I grow into adulthood, meditating on the gap between who I once was and who I am now leaves me questioning if there really is much of a distance between the two, or if the fifteen year old version of me is just lying dormant waiting to be brought back above the waters of nostalgia. by @antkindasteezy_
Jumping the Broom (I dream that there will come a day) Digital Photography 2026 - Happy Juneteenth! I made this piece reflecting on how for so long I didn't allow myself to ponder what a domesticated life would look like for me, a life with three wicked yankee candles and joint grocery lists, of synchronized sleep schedules and shower routines. Growing up in the South as a Queer, Black individual conditioned me to believe that survival was something I was meant to be grateful for, not something I was owed. When you're already vying for survival, love seems to be out of the question entirely. Sometimes liberation looks like allowing yourself to daydream and experience a joy the world has not yet caught up to. Sometimes the most radical thing we can do is celebrate the warmth of a love we have yet to feel. by @antkindasteezy_
The Ecstasy of Saint Teresa Digital Photography 2025 - based on Saint Teresa of Ávila's own account of a vision in which she was pierced in the heart by an angel with a flaming spear of gold and experienced a "sweetness" of excessive pain and sexual pleasure by @antkindasteezy_

The Curse of Eve 4x5 Large Format Film Scan 2026 - First piece of the semester (and ever) that i've made to try and materialize my gender dysphoria into something I could visualize, which was a very vulnerable experience for me. There is a void inside my body where a womb could've been, and almost was. Almost. by @antkindasteezy_
