Hating your own body for being sick is one of the cruelest things you can do to yourself. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the past year — while living in an environment that was actually destroying it. When my body was confronted with an unexpected virus, the challenges of living abroad, and everything that started going wrong with my health, I stopped seeing it as something that was simply trying to carry me through life. Instead, I started seeing it as my enemy. I hated all the changes. I hated the symptoms. Eventually, I started hating my body itself. I blamed it for getting sick. And somehow, while fighting my illnesses, I started fighting myself too. Looking back, I was literally making my own body pay for being sick. Crazy, ha. Maybe the real dilemma isn’t so-called “self-love.” Maybe it’s learning to stop constantly controlling, judging, and fighting your body. Maybe the goal is simply to realise that being sick doesn’t mean your body is broken, ugly, or any less worthy of love🫀 by @anya_korzhenko
October🎃Slowly immersing myself in my own desires. It feels like my whole personality has been erased somewhere along the way. For most of my life, I was trying to be the person everyone expected me to be. Making the right decisions, following the rules, not causing trouble (that “good and calm kid”), being responsible, and constantly trying to meet expectations. This year, for the first time, I’ve stopped being and living like “expectation” and have literally lost any power to maintain that “expectation.” Because of that terrible feeling, I couldn’t tell what made me happy, what I enjoyed, or even what I wanted my life to look like. But lately, something has been shifting. I’m making decisions without looking for someone’s approval first. I finally enjoy things simply because I like them! Not because they’re productive, useful, or expected of me. This October, I found myself genuinely happy about little things. Making choices for myself. Following my own curiosity is even more intriguing now;) by @anya_korzhenko

23-year-old me would barely recognise the person I am at 24. Probably that’s what they call a transitional phase idk This past year has changed me A LOT in the way I see myself, people, love, family, and life. I’ve had to unlearn things I once believed, and finally face parts of myself I used to avoid. Do I want to be more patient with myself? Definitely. Am I there yet? Not even close. Can everything be controlled? NO. And apparently, accepting that is a whole journey of its own. And the most controversial discovery was that you don’t always discover who your people are when life is good. Sometimes you find out when it isn’t. Sometimes they believe in you more than you believe in yourself. And I’ll always be grateful to those who showed up when I needed them most🥹🫶🏻. All I want is to trust myself now. To believe in myself. Separate what I truly want from what I’ve been taught to want, to listen to myself without guilt, and to trust that I can find my own way. 24. A little wiser, a little bolder, rising from the ashes🐦‍🔥❤️‍🩹 by @anya_korzhenko

September 2026. So weird and complicated. Realised some of my behavioural patterns, old lessons I probably should have learned a long time ago, and how important it is to have the right people around. Exactly the right people, kind of people who make you feel safe and understood. Sometimes they’re not the people you’d expect - but in the end they become your biggest source of support. I’m also learning to find that support within myself. My body has been teaching me a lot about that too — through pain and challenges I never imagined before. I still don’t fucking know what’s going on. But I’m curious to figure it out;) by @anya_korzhenko

Which one resonates the most? by @anya_korzhenko
At first, I was doubtful about whether my body could handle this routine after being in physical and mental distress for such a long time. But here am I, being grateful that I could and I can. Giving yourself and your body some time is probably the most important thing during hard times. The school choice for such training is also defines a lot, I’m so lucky and grateful for the place and teachers I’ve got. Every day feels like a life-changing path❤️‍🩹#yogateachertraining #baliyoga #healing by @anya_korzhenko
