I’m Zachari Johnson, powerlifter, coach, and founder of Apex Powerlifting.

As the name suggests I work with powerlifters, but I don’t only work with powerlifters. My passion is the sport, but my desire to help people moves beyond the sport.

Whether your goal is strength, weight loss, muscle gain, general health, or just feeling better in your body, I can help.

I’ve spent many years under the bar and hold multiple nutrition certifications. I also hold multiple Canadian national records, I’m a 3x GPC Canadian national champion, and a 1x GPC world champion.

I specialize in strength and conditioning, body recomposition, and powerlifting, but more importantly, I coach real people toward real results.

Let’s set some time aside to talk about your goals and see if we’re a good fit to work together 💪

If you find your thing, what ever it is, take it to the grave and let it kill you.

So few of us find our thing that when I found powerlifting I realized how lucky I was to finally do something I love with my life.

I never really celebrated this year but in August I took 9 years sober. Eternally grateful for my life.

I did my first powerlifting meet when I was 9 months sober.

The rest is history.

I’ll never feel silly for this.

This is the only thing I’ve found that gives me the feeling that others get from success they’ve achieved in their life. by @apex_powerlifting2024

Some 2rm max effort work tonight. Working up to 505 + chains and some heel raised narrow stance squats at 405 3x8.

2nd last day of this “post meet” work.

Even though I didn’t compete, /cry, I still “peaked” for the meet. Gotta get back in shape for training.

Back to normal training next week.

Some post “meet” pulls.

Had to pull out of the meet a weekend or two ago now.

Wife had some health issues that we had been dealing with and it just wasn’t in the cards this go around.

Choose to live and fight another day 🤝

So today was the first big pull I’ve taken since the 680 pull I did during meet prep.

Meet prep week 9 - deadlift opener area - worked up to 635lbs

We’ll see how the next two weeks go and decide where I want to set my opener at. 635 didn’t feel bad today but it wasn’t super snappy - which is expected this deep into prep.

Overall happy with today. Two weekends til meet day.

After a week from hell, doctors and ER visits, zero training days since last week, we get to peak squat day sort of intact.

Worked up to 675lbs for a meh single.

Was supposed to take my opener bench on Wednesday but we took it after squats today along with a second attempt working up to 405lbs and 455lbs.
