Some cars are worth the wait.

Our good friend and client has been on the hunt for his dream hot hatch: a Phase 1 Renault Clio V6! (Huge congrats to @emgeel!)

While we were in the UK, we had the chance to see and enjoy it in person. It lived up to every expectation and brought more smiles to people’s faces than a lot of the other London traffic (think gold chrome wrapped Aventadors and hypercars)

It’s not every day you get to see one of these let alone experience bringing one in. We can’t wait to see it again once it lands in the US!

Looking for something overseas? We offer vehicle importing and secure storage. If you find the right car but it’s not yet eligible for import, we’ve got you covered until the time comes by @apexautohausfl

The 996 Turbo is arguably still one of the best values in the Porsche market.

While the Mezger engine has earned its reputation for reliability, there are still a few things worth paying attention to when shopping for one.

We put together four things we’d look for before pulling the trigger on a 996 Turbo.

Anything you’d add to the list? by @apexautohausfl

Since you guys liked the E30 one, figured I’d do one on the S54 E36 that I sold a couple years ago. One of the best cars I’ve owned.

Just a look back on how my Technoviolet M3 sedan went from a rough trade into one of the best driving cars I never should’ve sold.

Back in 2019, I bought this GTI to use as a track car. I ended up straight trading it for a Technoviolet E36 M3 instead.

The E36 had a ton of miles on the chassis and needed interior and engine work. It was rough around the edges, but it had great bones.

The first version of the car was pretty simple. A set of Apex ARC 8s, coilovers, and some cleaning up. The E36 starter pack back in the day. Before everyone started slamming them and throwing them on 5x114 reps hahaha

The plan wasn’t to S54 swap, but when a cheap rear ended E46 M3 with a factory 6 speed came up for grabs I knew that the E36 needed the drivetrain. The motor was completely gone through with all of the gaskets, seals, and hardware addressed or replaced with OEM replacements (thank you again @fcpeuro!) The two big S54 issues were addressed with a Beisan Vanos refresh and VAC rod bearings.

The 6 speed was also refreshed and a full exhaust @bimmerworld exhaust was thrown on after the catless headers!

The S52 also lived on in my S52 E30!

The engine and transmission were in and now it was time to button everything up. To be completely honest the car ran like garbage at first 😂

@mitchthesage and I got everything sorted and slowly but surely it was getting dialed in.

The car got a carbon airbox and a tune from @hte_performance_tuning and it was like a completely different car! Now it was time to tackle the underneath.

With the engine being sorted, I tackled what had been bothering me since 2019. The suspension.

Got rid of the coilovers that were on it for a set of refreshed JRZ 2 ways. While in there replaced every single bushing possible with either a spherical or OEM replacement. Every braking component was replaced and upgraded. Core4 dual drilled hubs were also installed to run the wheels that are on the next slide ;)

For the final touch it went to @arnagemotorsports for a hub alignment!

Then came the fun stuff: the interi by @apexautohausfl

Quick lap around the showroom! Line up changes a lot, but the taste stays the same.

Did BMW improve on what was already the perfect package?

In 2011, there was nothing like the 1M on the market.

A manual only, short wheelbase, turbo straight six, with the whole M3 parts bin thrown underneath it.

The M2 took the same formula and pushed it further and further.

Manual or DCT, more developed chassis, and the S55 out of the F8X M3/M4.

A short wheelbase (shorter than an E36), hydraulic steering, and overall a lighter car give the 1M feel that’s different to find in more modern cars.

The M2 Competition is heavier, but compensates with additional power, more mechanical grip, and a more sophisticated chassis. It’s more capable but loses some feel compared the 1M.

Both 3.0 liter, twin turbo, straight sixes. On paper very similar but couldn’t be more different. The 1M makes you work for the power while the M2 has effortless torque on tap. One sounds better, the other is more capable.

The 1M is very analog and could be optioned with no navigation which brings the weight down and cleans up the dash. As mentioned it only came with a manual transmission.

The M2 came with both DCT and a manual option. It includes modern tech but still keeps a somewhat analog feel.

Both are fantastic cabins to be in.

Let us know which one you’d have in your garage! If you have any more questions on these we’d love to answer them, both fantastic options! by @apexautohausfl

Doesn’t get much better than a Black Series from AMG. We’re always on the hunt for these special German hot rods.

This one is part of our personal collection and will be on display at the upcoming Open Haus on November 7th! by @apexautohausfl

We’re car enthusiasts first and dealers second. That means we have a few opinions about the cars we buy, the cars we sell, and what actually makes a car worth owning.

Swipe ➡️➡️➡️

Lower miles don’t automatically make a car “better”.

We’ve seen plenty of low mile cars that needed more attention than examples with 10x the miles. Cars are meant to be driven, and regular use paired with proper maintenance can be a lot healthier than years of sitting.

Not every car needs to be manual.

We love a good manual as much as anyone, but that doesn’t automatically make it the better choice. Some cars are better suited as automatics, not everything needs to be converted. A great driving experience isn’t defined by a third pedal.

A clean fax doesn’t always tell the whole story.

A clean history report is great, but it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Not every accident, repair, or maintenance visit makes it onto a vehicle history report. Service records, paint measurements, a thorough inspection, and the overall condition of the car can tell you a lot more than a clean report alone. In many cases, fax entries can be wrong so you really have to be careful.

A repainted panel shouldn’t automatically be a deal breaker.

Original paint matters, especially when we’re talking about collector cars. But a properly repaired and repainted panel doesn’t automatically make a car a bad example. The quality of the work, the reason behind it, and whether it was disclosed are what really matter. Context is everything.

The cheapest example can often times be more expensive in the long run.

There’s usually a reason two seemingly identical cars have vastly different asking prices. Deferred maintenance, missing service history, poor repairs, and neglected ownership can turn a bargain into a money pit pretty quickly. We always tell our clients to buy the best example they can afford.

We’d love to hear what your unpopular car opinions are! Let us know in the comments. by @apexautohausfl

BMWs best era? The E9X M3 and the 1M are two of the best examples of why this era of drivers cars might be the most special.

Two very different driving experiences despite the 1M having the entire M3 parts bin thrown at it. Picture walking into a showroom and having to choose between a Moonstone E90 M3 or a 1M. Which one would you pick?

These are both sold but we are actively looking for more examples! Shoot us a DM or hit the link in the bio to sell yours. by @apexautohausfl
