Last week, we had the honor of attending the cast and crew premiere of Tox at the The Clairidge Theater in Montclair.

I (Sue) first met Kerri Lynn several years ago through our mutual friend, Neil Grabowsky. Not long after, I selected Kerri as one of our 12 Pass the Crown Around honorees. Through that experience, my best friend and writing partner, Amy Player Smith, connected with Kerri Lynn and her project, and Amy & I through Pass the Crown Around was honored to play a role in supporting the film along its journey.

Today, Pass the Crown Around is proud to have helped produce its first film, and we couldn’t be more proud of Kerri and the determination it took to bring Tox to completion.

Seeing the film on the big screen was a special moment for everyone involved. We are excited to watch its journey continue and hope it finds its way to many more theaters for audiences to enjoy.

Congratulations to Kerri, the cast, crew, and all those who helped bring this project to life.

We’ve done it! Two comedic pilot scripts finished; wildly funny, unexpected, and original.

Last summer I wrote a post called The Year of Her. It was a reminder to myself and an invitation to others to think intentionally about what we want to accomplish and to hold each other accountable. This creative leap is a direct result of that mindset.

Amy and I are lifelong friends and writers who have spent years developing stories, characters, and worlds together, always knowing we would eventually bring them to life. We have written for years alongside meaningful careers, parenthood and life’s ups and downs, and these two comedy pilots are projects we always said we would finish someday. We finally did.

At this stage of our lives, we reject the idea that dreams fizzle with age. Having built successful careers and lived full-layered lives, we are stepping into our most powerful creative chapter yet. This is not about starting something new; it is about finishing what we have been building for years.

The result is two one-of-a-kind comedy pilots; laugh-out-loud stories that create worlds you want to escape into, filled with heart, humor, and characters you want to spend time with.

We’d love to connect with others in the industry who enjoy discovering new comedic voices and character-driven worlds. If you’d like to read them, I’m happy to share. Expect plenty of laughs.
After all, laughter is the best medicine, and our goal is to bring more joy into the world.
And yes, number three is coming soon.
