In celebration of the Day of the African Child, i graced the commemorations at Louis Mountbatten as the Guest of Honour, bringing hope, inspiration and tangible support to young learners.

, urged the children to uphold these values, reminding them that their culture is their identity and that respect, discipline and education are key pillars for a brighter future. commended the work being done through the Angel of Hope Foundation, which has positively impacted vulnerable children, women and communities across Zimbabwe through education, health and empowerment programmes.

Ambassador Apphia N. Musavengane marked the Day of the African Child at Louis Mountbatten as Guest of Honour, reaffirming her commitment to empowering Zimbabwe’s future generation.

Through the Bridging Gaps Foundation, she pledged school fees support for 20 vulnerable children up to Grade 7, donated school packs to all attendees, and provided 10 laptops. Outstanding young performers were also rewarded with cash prizes of US$500, US$300, and US$150.

Swakopmund, Namibia 🇳🇦

participating & Speaker at the 3rd Edition Invest in Africa Trade Expo & Business Summit, i joined influential leaders, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and trade experts from across the continent to advance Africa’s economic transformation agenda.

I shared insights on the critical role of positioning African women as champions of trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), highlighting the importance of creating inclusive opportunities, strengthening women-led enterprises, and removing barriers that limit women’s participation in regional and continental markets.

My message underscored the fact that empowering women is not only a matter of equality but a strategic driver of sustainable economic growth, innovation, and prosperity across Africa. By equipping women with the tools, networks, and access needed to thrive in trade, Africa can unlock its full economic potential and accelerate the realization of the AfCFTA vision.

Empowering women. Transforming Africa. Building a future where trade works for all.
