What’s scarier than a haunted house? Telling someone they might actually like shorter cranks! Happy Halloween from Appleman. 🎃 #applemanbicycles #2xrcranks by @applemanbicycles
Things come through the shop in waves... this week it’s 3 Bianchi’s. 3 damaged chainstays from 3 dropped chains. This type of damage has become more and more common lately. This of course is nearly preventable in two ways... 1 - Don’t drop your chain when shifting the front derailleur 🤪 This happens most commonly when pedaling hard during the shift. Proper adjustment helps too. 2 - Most bike companies build to a wider is better ethos which really isn’t true. There’s also some manufacturing convenience to making a wide BB shell. These bikes could all be made using a 68mm wide BB shell and external BB bearings and provide a ~10mm gap for the chain to go into instead of a 3mm gap where it crushes the carbon. - #applemanbicycles #carbonrepair #doh by @applemanbicycles
I’ve been working on my fades and really tried to stretch this one out. I use an LPH80 super mini paint gun and spray all of the crank paint in-house. Speed while spraying the blends is key to get that long smooth fade. - #applemanbicycles #fadepaint #cranksthatfit #shortcranks by @applemanbicycles
Options! You want ‘em, I got ‘em. The 2XR cranks are great and fit a lot of bikes, but wading through all the options can be overwhelming. - I made a new “crank finder” resource to help guide folks on what crank configuration will work on their bike. The best part, a real live person can help you too if you still have questions - #applemanbicycles #2xrcranks #cranksthatreallyfit by @applemanbicycles

New website day isn’t as sweet as new bike day, but it’s still something. Calling all typo finders! Holler at me if anything looks feels or especially smells off on the new site. - #applemanbicycles #2xrcranks #cranksthatfit #cranksthatreallyfit by @applemanbicycles
40mm cranks for 40 laps around the 🌞. Is 40 the new 165? I’m lucky to have such a thoughtful, creative friend... thanks @ridejuly for the amazing birthday present. - Perhaps the new crank length formula should be 1mm in length for every year. - 29t chainring utilizing Narrow-Wide-Wide technology, lol. - #applemanbicycles #shortcranksarentreal #40isfine by @applemanbicycles
