📰🤝OCTOBER BLOG IS LIVE NOW! As we reflect on our September ‘Makers’ Month’ we think about how we can best support the ecology of artists around us going forward. To kick that off listen to our anthem of our work with artists. Makers by @dan_loops_music was created live in response to our event Makers in Collaboration this September! As September, dubbed our 'Makers' Month', has come to an end we're looking back on some of the ways we've supported brilliant artists in Yorkshire across the month. And on Friday, in our October blog, we'll be sharing our plans for doing more of this going forward! Finally from 'Maker's Month', was our second annual 'Makers' event. Makers: In Collaboration was held this year in collaboration with the brilliant team at Culture Sheffield at Sheffield City Council, welcoming artists from across the region to learn about excellent approaches to collaboration from archipelago directors @bethlaknight and @sean_a_ryan_ and producer @josephclowser alongside the brilliant @jrwothomack from @rootsmbili and @migmatfest; as well as taking part in practical workshops to develop their own collaboration toolkits. Here are the brilliant illustrations by @lherbertdesign which were live responses to the people in the room and the chats on the day. Tomorrow, alongside the monthly blog, we'll be sharing the other live artistic response from the day by the wonderful @dan_loops_music. by @archipelagoarts

And on Friday, in our October blog, we'll be sharing our plans for doing more of this going forward! And here's the final day of our inaugural 'Makers Lab' supported by an unLab grant from @untheatre. We were joined by two brilliant multi-hyphenate creatives we've been lucky to work with as actor-musicians, but both are currently leading on exciting works as lead artists that we wanted to give some support to, @dan_loops_music and @emilysnooksmusic. With a walk to Castleton (including the Devil's Arse!) we talked about how to make confronting work and what scares us as people and artists. There was some afternoon jamming, swapping of scripts for feedback as well as an evening watch of The Princess Bride to spot some of the walk from the day! (Inconceivable!) by @archipelagoarts
As September, dubbed our 'Makers' Month', has come to an end we're looking back on some of the ways we've support brilliant artists in Yorkshire across the month. And on Friday, in our October blog, we'll be sharing our plans for doing more of this going forward! Next was the third day of our inaugural 'Makers Lab' supported by an unLab grant from @untheatre. We were joined by three brilliant artists from archipelago's home city of Sheffield: writer @cjsimon123 and directors @jesskmillward and @verity_richards_. Whilst Seán, CJ and Jessica bravely traversed a *very* misty and rainy Winhill Pike, discussing how to protect collaborations and why being clear is kind, Beth and Verity dug out previous works and thought about revitalising them for the future! We also all considered how being a person is part of our practice. Understanding and more firmly holding the kind eyes of others as a lens to look at ourselves and the way we make work. by @archipelagoarts
As September, dubbed our 'Makers' Month', has come to an end we're looking back on some of the ways we've supported brilliant artists in Yorkshire across the month. And on Friday, in our October blog, we'll be sharing our plans for doing more of this going forward! First up was the first two days of our inaugural 'Makers Lab' supported by an unLab grant from @untheatre. We spent the first two days in Hope dreaming around with the brilliant writer @simonsayswritesdoes on an upcoming commission (keep your eyes peeled for more on this 👀) alongside brilliant producer @josephclowser and designer @lherbertdesign. We forged streams, made friends with loads of local wildlife and invented a local folktale of the 'Coggers'... whilst also talking about the privilege of advocacy and dreaming and, in classic archipelago style, thinking about what our work together is, isn't and could be! by @archipelagoarts

In celebration of Heritage Open Days we’ll be sharing two beautiful audio pieces curated by artist @brid.ac. The first two in a collection of stories about workers rights from the Luddites to AI that will be collected and released over the next year! Across Friday and Saturday, listening stations will be set-up across the museum to listen to the stories.
