Meet ‘The Chronos Singularity’.

A work inspired by the language of architecture and created as part of Alec & Franz’s ongoing exploration of how historic spaces can be reimagined through contemporary art.

At Boston Manor House, the artists pay homage to the heritage of this lesser-known architectural gem, drawing on its history while introducing their own visual language of meticulous lines, movement and illusion.

This is a 16th Century Baroque Style building, it was inhabited by a number of families of aristocracy in Milan, and was altered significantly in the 18th Century under the Villa style using the Rococo and Baroque architectural style.

FLOATING ARCHITECTURAL SPACES

By Francesco Vitali & Alec Boreham

4 – 15 June 2024

Private View: Tuesday 4 June, 6-9pm
Artist Talk: Saturday 8 June, 3pm onwards
Finissage: Saturday 15 June, 3pm onwards

A touring duo exhibition that develops a new and personal contemporary vision of architecture, coinciding with the London Festival of Architecture.

Artist duo Alec Boreham & Francesco Vitali explore the impact of architecture on wellbeing. ‘Floating Architectural Spaces’ is their collaborative exploration into the impact of architecture on human wellbeing. A shared appreciation for the histories and stories held within buildings lies at the core of their practice.

Intricate and detailed, yet light and abstract, Alec’s hand drawn graphite works are not to be mistaken for architectural blueprints; they celebrate the individual beauty of iconic monuments that were constructed by manual means. Both artists believe that it is this human connection that allows us to recognise a city by its unique landmarks, constellations of domes and spires, minarets and cupolas, evoking a sense of belonging that transcends time and space.

A proportion of proceeds from ‘Floating Architectural Spaces’ will be donated to UCLH Charity, the official charity of University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
