Powerlifting United Video Announcement Couple of FAQ’s to read as I know you all will have some questions after the video. What happens to the State and National Records we were looking to break? Previous record holders will remain record holders for that federation. We could not transfer over the names to our record books for obvious reasons. However, our database has presets in place that mirror exactly what you would have been aiming for if there was no change. Once your break these preset records, you will be the record holder for that age group, division, weight class, category. This goes for State and National records. Is OpenPowerlifting recognizing Powerlifting United competitions including Nationals as approved and legitimate? Yes, we have been in discussions with Open PL months in advance in the event this option was a possibility. We wanted to make sure we took the necessary steps to make this transition seamless for our registered lifters. Part of that process was receiving approval from Open Powerlifting so this meet and future meets will be recognized on their database under Powerlifting United (PLU). Will I still need a membership at weigh ins? Yes, if you have purchased a membership before the change in sanction, we will honor that existing membership for Nationals. If you have not purchased a membership yet, we encourage you to purchase one from our website before weigh ins. We offer a standard athlete membership, Youth Athlete membership, and Hero membership which is for Active Military, LEOs, and First Responders. Youth and Hero Memberships are discounted. Is the rulebook different? The rules for the sport are pretty standard across multiple powerlifting governing bodies. There is no difference in the standards of competition than what you are used to or have trained for already. Any other questions feel free to DM us by @arizona_powerlifting
REAPERS & RECORDS. 💀🏆 What an incredible day at TG The Gym Mesa! We couldn’t be more grateful for the overwhelming turnout and support at Reapers & Records. From the athletes who left it all on the platform to everyone who came out to cheer them on, the energy was something special. Seeing so many familiar faces alongside so many new ones is exactly what makes this community what it is. We’re incredibly proud to have hosted an event that brought so many people together through a shared passion for strength. To every athlete, spectator, supporter, and everyone who helped make this event possible THANK YOU!! Days like this remind us that TG is more than just a gym. It’s a family. 🖤 by @arizona_powerlifting
Strong showing from these guys at the AZ PLU Reapers and Records meet this past weekend! So happy I got to shoot my friends and cheer them on after watching their whole preps! So proud of all of them! #powerlifting #powerliftinglife #fitnessphotography #sbd by @arizona_powerlifting
Not the day I wanted on the platform, but man was it fun! Couldn’t have asked for a better group of friends and competitors to share the platform with. And to all my friends and family who showed up, the support was unreal! 🫶🏼 Huge thanks to PLU AZ @my_name_is_jefffff and @katiehambergler for putting on an awesome event, and shoutout @kay.bee.08 and @langermediaco for the pics and livestream! Applebees wasn’t ready for the afterparty lol 🎃🤘🏽 by @arizona_powerlifting
A HUGE shout out to these two @devin.ph and @kay.bee.08 @langermediaco Not only did they both compete at Reapers & Records, but they took care of the Livestream all day. It was greatly appreciated by us for you guys to take care of all that.Ive only gotten to watch some clips of the Livestream but it looked absolutely flawless! If youre local and looking for photos, videos or Livestreaming, hit them up! by @arizona_powerlifting
2 years of powerlifting marked by my third competition. I started in October 2024 after some persistent nagging by @devin.ph. He thought I might like it, I only ever liked to squat and hated training upper body movements and was terrified of deadlifting... So far I've put 150lbs on my total since my first meet in April 2025 and the goal is to join the 1000lb club. Only 146 more pounds to go. 📸 @langermediaco #powerliftingwomen #powerliftingunited #sbd #strengthtraining by @arizona_powerlifting
☠️ Reapers and Records Recap ☠️ I came into this meet knowing it was going to be my strongest performance yet, so the main goal was to smoke all my meet PRs and then have some fun. Loved sharing the platform with some amazing people and I’m proud of everyone for showing up and leaving it all out there 💪🏼 Huge shoutout to everyone who’s helped or supported through this prep, especially @philtoon_ for being a damn good coach! Had so much fun today, man Reapers & Records ‘26 was such a great meet all-around, and I appreciate @katiehambergler and @my_name_is_jefffff for putting it together ——— Total: 747.5kg//1648lbs (small PR) DOTs: 443 Attempts: 7/9 (missed 3rd bench and DL) Best Squat: 272.5kg//600.8lbs (small PR) Best Bench: 195kg//429.9lbs Best DL: 280kg//617.3lbs ——— Dealing with so much chronic stress and loss this year has made it genuinely hard to enjoy or get excited about much of anything at all And yea, a 3-week prep isn’t really ideal or optimal, but when you see a rare opportunity to lift with some world-class strength athletes, it’s hard not to get excited and want to be part of that. Being around the best makes you better, if you let it I appreciate anyone that’s ever in my corner and takes the time out of their day to support me in any way, especially a few people today @vinnyclarin is so goddamn patient, especially with someone like me 😂. Thanks so much for helping me get ready for this on such short notice, and for all the other support you provide @matty_guffs is the GOAT meet handler, thanks for letting me get to actually experience being an athlete for a change and for making the day 10x smoother Thanks @kat_sinthekitchen for always being the loudest person in the building when my name is called, I love you by @arizona_powerlifting
