(petit oubli: *the vietnamese language workshop will be on the 06/10 from 16:00 till 18:00.) Dear friends! In the context of the « Setting the Table », a group-exhibition we have been invited to participate in by our siblings @pushinghands.collective, we are organising these two activities. The Vietnamese Language Workshop will be held by @hakhdo and is directed towards people of Vietnamese descent who might still struggle with the language. First-time, beginner and intermediate learners welcome! Vietnamese and their invitees only. Please send up a DM to register. The talk is open to everyone curious about what we do, and interested in archiving practices. We would like to take this moment to introduce ourselves properly, and explain our values and objectives. Come around, and take the time to check out the exhibition that’s still on until the 23rd! Location: PILAR Visuals by @keilinhhh by @arkieu_bi
despite being a Belgian-Viet collective, most of our team is based in Brussels... so we took a little trip (thanks Khôi 🥸 & his car) to Leuven on Ngọc's recommendation (who lives there) we visited Loempialand for a dinner-turned-meeting due to pouring rain, chatted with the cô chú Viet owners, passed by bánh mì ah!QUY & stopped for dessert nearby 😋 -- 03.09.2025 (this was also the day we brainstormed the creation of our collective name, this account & the pilar expo!) -- by @arkieu_bi
Hello! I just turned 26 yesterday, on the 24th of September (I'm a Libra!). This year, I'm asking my beautiful friends and strangers in the internet if they could help me and my dear archiving collective @arkieu_bi out of poverty, because it has not been easy to pursue our activities without any money and we have been facing a huge wall that, not only slows us down, but limits our options to the point where it hurts :( This is why I would like to invite the people who care about these types of initiatives as well as those who would like to get me a gift for my birthday. In short, ar kiều bỉ is a project I started this year, originally for my MA thesis, that aims to collect Belgian-Vietnamese archives and activate its memories through workshops, art creations, conversations and community building. It is a project that is dear to my heart, and that allowed me to meet the beautiful souls that answered our open call last May (we are now a collective!). I will stop yapping because I already doubt a lot of people will read until there lol!!! Keywords are support local community projects and if you love me or Vietnamese food donate!!! Every euro matters 🥹🥹🥹 LINK IS IN BIO !!! Both here and on @arkieu_bi 's account! art by @loumeessen by @arkieu_bi

This upcoming Tuesday, we will celebrate the opening of "Setting the Table", an exhibition taking place at @pilarbrussels, part of their community program. We have been invited by our dear friends @pushinghands.collective to showcase publicly, for the first time, a bit of our archives, and what we have been up to since our last Open Call. In "A Belgian-Vietnamese Room", we share objects as archives, proof of our migrating existence, that have travelled with us from Vietnam to Belgium. We will also propose some workshops in October (to be announced soon!), and collective mapping moments where we invite the public to help complete a Vietnamese Brussels map. We would especially like to invite anyone Vietnamese to come and visit us <3 ar kiều bỉ is a community archive based in Brussels and beyond, for the Vietnamese community in Belgium. poster by our sweet @keilinhhh by @arkieu_bi
