Gutted. So many posts on instagram speaking about how much Eric Bauza meant to them. Talented beyond imagining, but humble, and so generous.

Last year, 2025, Caro Buermann invited me as director of the film to the 40th anniversary screening of the Care Bears Movie, in LA.

Caro and her fiancée, Eric Bauza, were organizing the fundraiser screening in support of animators who had lost their houses in the recent LA fires, and for the animation community that was and is still impacted by the shifting sands of our economy.

Caro and Eric both had a passion to give back to those in their industry at such a time of need.

We screened a beautiful new print of the Care Bears Movie in the historic Aero Theatre, attended mostly by dedicated adult Care Bears fans. Eric moderated the Q and A. Cree Summer Francks (the original voice of Kim from our movie) spoke passionately of the need for young audiences to see themselves reflected in the stories told on film.

After the show, Eric and Caro treated us to a cozy dinner at the former speakeasy in the Georgian Hotel.

Such a memorable weekend. I was lucky to be there to feel some of the warmth and enthusiasm of the group and especially enjoy my time with Eric and Caro. I won’t forget that. Thank you for being you.

Sending deepest condolences to Caro and to Eric’s family, and to his fellow voice artists and friends for the loss of this good man.. by @arnaselznick2017

Some of the sights from our adventure on the Lassonde Art Trail @thelatfoundation , Biidaasige Park on the banks of Lake Ontario. We explored with the ‘Gallery Guys’ on Thursday Oct 22/2026. A brilliant day.

1-5: The beavers are part of the permanent sculpture called ‘The Colony’ created by Kent Monkman @kentmonkman.

6: A sculpture called “First Sun” by Monika Al Qadiri @moniraism

7: ‘plant’ found art seed pod on the trail.

8: the things that tighten the wire on the barriers at the side of the paths.

9: cover over a bridge to the Art Trail.

10: view of Toronto through the bridge.

Our talented friend, Luc Latulippe @heyfrankbottom director/animator/designer, started a crowd funder for his new show. Check it out on crowdfundr:

In Luc's own words:
Frank Bottom Conquers Uranus!
"It’s Barbarella meets Romy & Michele in this queer sci-fi cartoon set in a dystopian future! When a sex-worker and a drag queen accidentally steal a sentient spaceship, it sets off a wild chain of events that ripple throughout the cosmos." by @arnaselznick2017
