Park spotlight: Willow Lake Farm

Located off of Butler Pike in Ambler (Whitpain Township), Willow Lake Farm is a year-round hiking destination. The park is 108 acres and features four trails, some of which cross over horse pastures! Though visitors can watch the horses from afar, @wissahickon.trails asks that hikers do not feed or harass them. Wildlife like deer, tree swallows, rabbits and hawks are also present. Despite lingering smoke and threat of rain, Ambler Farmers' Market is open this Saturday from 9 am-12 pm! However, if the weather becomes dangerous (thunderstorms), the market will close early.

Whether hiking, picnicking, or playing outdoor games, Prophecy Creek Park in Ambler is a great location for family fun! The 82.5-acre park features ponds, easily navigable trails, an outdoor classroom, and a Manor House venue for weddings and other events. Prophecy Creek Park gets its name from a local legend. According to folklore, the original landowner, Ann McCarty, said that a spring would rise under her grave if she was buried on the property. After her death, a stream supposedly appeared and fulfilled her prediction. The park is open from dawn til dusk. Parking can be found in the main entrance lot at 205 Skippack Pike.
