From England to Exeter, art that carries stories into beautifully lived-in spaces. As seen on NH Chronicle and featured in Northshore Magazine

As soon as the calendar turned to November, I found that there’s a particular richness to color this time of year.

My painting titled "Ebbed" encapsulates that feeling with its warm ochres, rusts and earthen tones, colors that feel especially at home as the landscape shifts into late autumn.

At 40 × 40 inches, the work has enough presence to anchor a room while its layered surface of oil, sand and mica asks for a closer look.

Four original works from my Skyscapes collection are currently available for purchase on Artsy.com for a limited time.

I created these paintings using a distinctive mix of materials and layered textures, exploring movement, depth, light, and atmosphere. The result is work that feels both expansive and tactile - equally compelling from across a room and up close.

For art collectors and interior designers, these pieces are intended to bring a strong sense of presence to a space while retaining the nuance and materiality of an original work.

View the available Skyscapes on Artsy for dimensions, details, and pricing.

✨Today's Inspiration✨
I LOVE Barbara Rae’s work.

Her palette, her compositions, the sheer energy of her color...it all feels electrifying to me.

I recently had the chance to spend time with "Deception Island", a carborundum print inspired by Rae’s travels to Antarctica, and I completely soaked it in. The color, depth and movement kept pulling me back for another look.

Rae is an extraordinary colorist and master printmaker, and her work is such a reminder of how powerfully a landscape can be transformed through Barbara Rae's own visual language.

This is the kind of art that stays with me long after I’ve walked away.

And Barbara Rae, if our paths ever cross, I would absolutely love to meet you. 🙏 by @art.avery.art

The world gives me the material.
I interpret what it becomes.

That’s where the painting begins.
And then, I paint my own reality.

A few favorites from The Armory Show in New York.

One of the pleasures of experiencing art in person is seeing how quickly a work can stop you, through scale, material, color, gesture, or simply the way it holds the space around it.

These are a few of the pieces that stayed with me from this year’s show. Some commanded attention from across the room; others rewarded a closer look.

Yesterday, I was asked a question that stopped me in my tracks:

How would you describe your art to a woman who has been blind her entire life?

I thought about what my paintings might feel like rather than how they look.

My Skyscapes hold the power and atmosphere of turbulence on a plane, the sudden clap of thunder nearby, the movement of wind across your skin, the dampness of mist, the force of rain, the warmth of the sun.

My early Sandscapes evoke the feeling of standing barefoot in the sand as a wave recedes, the ripples left behind on a sandbar, or tiny bubbles rising to the surface as a mussel or clam burrows deeper below.

It reminded me that art is not only something we see. It can hold movement, memory, texture, and sensation.

I hadn’t thought of my art in this way. This powerful question made me realize that sometimes, describing a painting without speaking about color or form reveals something essential about the work itself. by @art.avery.art

Feeling incredibly grateful after last week’s MvVO ART Show. 🤍

To all of my family and friends who stopped by to see me, thank you. Having your support, encouragement, and familiar faces there meant more to me than I can say.

And to the many of you who visited but somehow escaped without a photo together, you were absolutely no less appreciated. I may not have captured the moment on camera, but your presence is imprinted on my heart.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, reached out, cheered me on, and supported my work. I’m so grateful to have shared this experience with you. ❤️ by @art.avery.art
