Running a small business is one thing. Finding the time to tell people about it? That’s a whole other job. 🫠

Meet Kaylie, who took over @artium_justbasements about a year ago. With support from Desjardins Ontario Credit Union’s Momentum Fund, she’s investing in digital marketing and a beautiful new showroom to help more Ottawa homeowners discover what ARTium does best.

And that’s what I love about supporting local. When small businesses grow, our whole community benefits. ❤️

And a big shoutout to @desjardinsgroup for investing in the people and businesses that make our communities thrive. This is what supporting local looks like! 🙌

We’re proud to share that four ARTium Design Build projects have been named finalists in the 2026 GOHBA (@gohba_ottawa ) Housing Design Awards.

Maison Cordoba - Custom Kitchen Traditional (201–250 sq. ft.)

La Bella Vita - Condo or Rental Apartment Suite (801–1,500 sq. ft.)

The Serene Steam Ensuite - Custom Bathroom Traditional (100 sq. ft. or less)

The Jewel Box - Bathroom - Powder Room

Being recognized alongside some of Ottawa’s leading designers, builders and renovators is an honour and a reflection of the art and craftsmanship behind each project.

We’re looking forward to celebrating with the incredible people who bring this work to life at the 43rd GOHBA Housing Design Awards Gala on November 7.

For now, we’re taking a moment to celebrate four projects we’re very proud of. More to come on each one. by @artium_justbasements

A home’s exterior is the first impression, and we’ve updated some details to make it feel more complete.

The original red brick is complemented by updated siding, warm wood and paint accents, bringing together a considered mix of textures and materials that give this home in Kanata Lakes a fresh perspective.

🎃👻🍫 Happy Halloween from all of us at ARTium Design Build + Just Basements!

A kitchen is more than a place to cook. It’s where recipes are shared, traditions take shape, and everyday moments unfold.

Designed around the way you live, this kitchen brings thoughtful details and timeless materials together to make everyday rituals feel a little more special.

Good food, good company and a little talking shop. My kind of lunch. 😉🍝

This week, I caught up with my friend Kaylie from ARTium Design Build at Cantina Gia in the Glebe. We talked homes, design ideas and the possibilities that come with seeing a space through fresh eyes.

I’ve referred clients to Kaylie and the ARTium team, and hearing how happy they’ve been with the work makes recommending them that much more rewarding. 🏡✨

Whether you’re considering changes to your current home or imagining what you could do with your next one, having someone help you explore those ideas can make all the difference.

It’s also why I make time for these relationships. Helping clients goes beyond buying and selling. It means knowing who to call, making thoughtful introductions and staying connected with the people who help bring a home to life.

Have a project in mind? I’d be happy to introduce you to Kaylie. And yes, I can recommend a lunch spot, too. 😉

Join @suzannehusseini and designer Erika for a look inside her kitchen and her experience working with ARTium Design Build.

Suzanne shares her perspective on the renovation process and how thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and a collaborative approach come together to create a space that feels like home.

We believe a successful renovation goes beyond the finished space. It’s about understanding how you live and bringing your vision to life.

This morning we donated surplus furniture and supplies to ReStore Ottawa (@habitatgreaterottawa ), helping give these items a second life and keeping usable materials in circulation.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to support a more resource-conscious approach to building and design.

Thinking about a kitchen renovation?

Take a look through some of our past projects for inspiration, from warm wood tones and natural textures to clean, contemporary finishes.

No two homes are the same and we believe the spaces we create should reflect the people who live in them. Every kitchen is an opportunity to bring a unique vision to life.

Let’s connect and build your vision together.

A contemporary transformation defined by streamlined cabinetry, thoughtful detailing and a refined material palette.

The kitchen features custom flat-panel cabinetry, a contrasting wood tone accent and an expansive island with integrated open shelving, balancing everyday functionality with understated design.

Paired with refinished hardwood flooring and a bright, open-concept layout, the main floor feels cohesive and modern.
