The @artjoy.creative crew had the best time transforming @citrustowncenter into a springtime dream—complete with giant butterflies, soaring hummingbird puppets, face painting, and a whole cast of colorful, costumed characters. Everywhere you looked, there was movement, magic, and playful wonder. Huge thanks to @creative_marketing_arts for having us out to celebrate the season in such a joyful way. #ArtJoy #ImmersiveArt #WhimsicalArt #PerformanceArt #springvibes by @artjoy.creative

🌻🌈🦋🌱Every day is Earth Day in the Sierra Foothills—a reminder to protect the land and celebrate the beauty that surrounds us, every single day.

At ArtJoy (aka Giant Puppets Save the World), caring for the earth and honoring the impact of our actions is at the heart of everything we create. @artjoy.creative @giantpuppetssavetheworld

Radiating joy from start to finish 🌈🌻💛

ArtJoy brought a full spectrum of wonder to celebrate a truly heart-centered human — a 50th Birthday Disco Bat Mitzvah for creative visionary, momma, and community maker, @arutberg1 all set among the pristine vineyards of Sonoma.

Our Stilt Walking Sunflower Rainbow Goddesses welcomed guests with vibrant color and movement, while our Champagne Skirt Hostess served sparkling aperol spritzes — weaving performance seamlessly into an atmosphere of incredible cuisine, synchronized swimmers, a Grateful Dead cover band, and so much more.

This is what we love most — transforming spaces into immersive, joy-filled experiences that invite connection, celebration, and a little bit of magic.

Deep gratitude to the incredible collaborators who brought this vision to life: @jackieoverdorf

All hail the turning of the wheel! 🌕🍂

As the sun set and the full moon rose, we paraded with our giant puppets to Caspar Headlands State Beach on the Mendocino coast to welcome autumn at the threshold between day and night.

Our giant moon puppet embodied the beauty of cycles: waxing and waning, gathering and releasing, ripening and resting. We honored the Wise Fool, who invites us to laugh, loosen our grip on certainty, and step into mystery as the seasons change and the veil grows thin.

This inaugural procession opened Betwixt and Between, Caspar’s puppet festival, and began a new annual tradition! Over time, this community will dream up and build its own giant creations with guidance from teachers and community leaders including @casparfolkschool , Amanda @june_swoon_ and @giantpuppetssavetheworld . May this first gathering be a seed for generations of magnificent creatures, wild imaginings, and seasonal celebrations.

The parade kicked off a series of puppet shows at @casparbreadandwine with @casparfolkschool later that evening. Gratitude to everyone who helped bring this new tradition to life! @casparhub

Blessed be the changing light, the wild sea, and all we have yet to create together. 🍂

Looking forward to more friends and partners!

Halloween is our annual holiday… but let’s be honest, it’s an everyday situation around here! 🎃🙃

At Giant Puppets Save the World (and @artjoy.creative )we spend a lot of time with giant monster creatures, painting faces, walking on stilts, and dressing like our favorite spooky friends!

It’s our practice: take a breath, get a little weird, make tons of art, make someone smile. Repeat! 🍂✨

There’s still time to bring our larger-than-life puppets, fabulous stilt walkers, colorful face painting, bubbles, and joyful puppet parades to your autumn harvest festivities! A little invitation to put down the phone, look up—sometimes WAY up—and play together!

And when the pumpkins retire, the magic changes outfits! Our stilt-walking Christmas tree, Nutcracker, Candy Cane Queen, giant Moon, and glowing Arctic Fox are ready for the season of gathering, giving, and lighting up the long nights!

Book a little—or a lot—of joy for your celebration! We’ll bring the giant friends! 💛

Monsters need friends too! 👹🧡

Thank you, Main Street Cupertino, for inviting ArtJoy.org / Giant Puppets Save the World to bring some wonderfully silly monster mayhem to your Halloween celebration!

Our monster puppets put on a show about friendship, followed by Monster Mash parachute play and hands-on fun at our Puppet Play Station. Add a doggie costume contest, and we were surrounded by creatures with excellent fashion sense. 🐶🎃

So many giggles, new puppet pals, and very good dogs in very ridiculous outfits. Thank you to the whole event team and everyone who came out to play!

We are so excited to bring our giant puppets up to the Mendocino Coast this Sunday for the very first Betwixt & Between Puppet Festival in Caspar!

This one feels especially close to our hearts — a whole day centered around puppetry, folk art, handmade storytelling, community ritual, and making things with our hands. Yes please.

From 10:30 AM–12:30 PM, come meet some of our giant puppets up close and learn how we build, balance, paint, rig, and operate these larger-than-life creatures.

Then at 5 PM, they come alive! Our giant puppets, flying bird puppets, and silk flags will make their way in from the headlands for a community procession and seasonal ritual, followed by an evening of puppet shows inside the Caspar Inn.

We’re so happy to be part of what’s growing here with Betwixt & Between, Caspar Folk School + Caspar Hub — and especially excited about planting more seeds for puppetry, procession arts, and joyful handmade creativity on the Mendocino Coast.

Come play with puppets with us!

Sunday, October 25
Workshop: 10:30 AM–12:30 PM
Giant Puppet Procession: 5 PM
Puppet Shows: 5:45ish PM

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for the 35th Annual Hoes Down Harvest Festival!

It was a lively day full of music, dancing, workshops, delicious food, and plenty of farm fun. Some called it magical, and others said it was the best Hoes Down ever!

Hoes Down is a huge undertaking and truly a community effort. We are so grateful to the Full Belly Farm and EcoFarm teams, the 350 volunteers, and the many sponsors and food donors who make the day possible. Thank you for all the time, energy, and care you put into this festival.

And thank you to everyone who came out and supported Hoes Down and made this past weekend so memorable! All festival proceeds go to local and regional organizations working to support sustainable and organic agriculture, from growing new farmers to educating consumers and strengthening the organic agriculture community. Your attendance and support help build a more resilient food system.

We are looking forward to featuring interactive performances from the artists at ArtJoy, including puppet shows, enormous silk flag parades, giant puppetry, and more! Toni and her team have led performances at festivals all over the country and we are thrilled to welcome them to the fields of Full Belly Farm on October 3.

Toni’s intention is to make art that symbolizes ethical values, honor, justice, peace, equality, hope, and sustainability. At the heart of Giant Puppets Save the World is a simple idea: when we work together, we can create something greater than ourselves.
