For two weeks last month, I had the privilege of planting more than seeds in Historic Overtown🌱

Together with the incredible team @artofhealingcc in Miami, Florida, we’ve been exploring what education can look like when children are free to learn through nature, cultivation, culture, creativity, and community @homeschoolingthehood

We’ve watched young people connect with the earth, ask meaningful questions, create with confidence, and experience learning beyond the walls of a traditional classroom. This is exactly why Homeschooling the Hood exists—to help families discover that education can be hands-on, joyful, culturally relevant, and rooted in real life.

As we approach the official close of our Youth Artist Summer Camp I’d like to say- Thank you 💚

To the volunteers and professionals who took time to learn about our offerings- and donate their time-
Thank you for showing up, getting your hands in the soil, harvesting together, learning together, and believing in the power of community. You helped make this season one of growth in every sense of the word, and we are so grateful to have shared it with you.

But we’re just getting started.

Our next goal is to launch a Historic Overtown Homeschool Co-op community event space to create a one-of-a-kind learning ecosystem where academics, culture, wellness, environmental stewardship, and community come together.

If you’ve been homeschooling…
If you’re curious about school choice options…
Or if you’re simply looking for a community where your child can thrive…

✨ We’d love to meet you.

Let’s continue growing something beautiful—one child, one family, one harvest, and one community at a time. by @artofhealingcc
